I think the shop will always be either regular, or "special". They are probably never both.
If it's a place that disguises itself as some sort of therapeutic spa, you can do some research like finding their ad on Leolist. Or, of course ask about them here.
If their website shows sexy pictures of the staff, that would be a sign as well. Seems like some shops are pretty obvious, and others look a lot like their reflexology, and accupressure counterparts. Their storefronts even use the same lingo.
Definately pay before. As far as I know, its fine to ask to see the girls, but I would feel awkward about it myself.

At Four Seasons, Selina’s, and Smart you are unlikely to get a look at the line up.
Be prepared to suffer the stinky eye if you don’t pick someone after viewing. It’s a thrill but also a bit of a crap shoot to view the line up because there might be someone you’re interested in seeing at a particular shop but they’re not in the line-up because they’re busy.
Just assume payment up front and they’ll likely try to sell you on extras (bbbj, daty etc).
With all of the shops on the list they know you’re there to bust. Anything else can be discussed with the SP in the room. Some are half service and some are full. Just do your research beforehand.
