I am pretty new to the scene and was thinking of going for a cruise today. I was just wondering if some people could give me some suggestions. For example what are some good areas. I always hear about high, low and mid track what are they? How much $$$ should I bring? Any info would be greatly appriciated. Is it worth going in the afternoon?

Thanks to all!!!

Hello,

In general, for your first cruises and for most future cruises I recommend some of the following preparations:

Maybe bring $80 to $100 in cash with you... lock your actual wallet/ID in the glove box if possible, or maybe in the trunk (why take needless risks) and don't have valuable personal belongings in the cab of the vehicle.

Drive as far east as the Shell on Hastings, as far north as four or five blocks north of E. Hastings, as far south as several blocks south of E. Hastings (maybe Venables or beyond)... and perhaps to and through Gastown.

Just cruise around in an unpredictable pattern and when you see a girl of interest, park your car a couple of blocks away and make your approach on foot!

The police can and do come out of the woodwork to stop guys just for pulling to the side of the road to "communicate for the purposes of prostitution".

Why should you be so obvious as to give them an easy target?

It isn't easy to tell if you're some vagabond on his way home through the dark streets at night, if you're approaching on foot. Maybe the little chat is about a spare cigarette or the like - it doesn't have to be about her profession. When you're in the car they can always assume that you're there for one reason.

When you're on foot, they have no idea whether you'd have a place to "date" the girl, or whether you have two loonies to rub together. I doubt that you're actually "safe" with this routine, but I am certain that you're "safe-er" from the long arm of the law.

If it is raining hard, that's even a better time to get away with the on-foot approach. It is only a couple of blocks back to your car for you and your hoped-for date, so make the sacrifice.

If things are dead in that area, then a cruise up Kingsway can be a useful diversion, but I suspect that the eyes of the law are watching closely up there too. Almost sounds like there are more stings on Kingsway than in the downtown eastside.

If you can time your cruises to coincide with the days just before the last Wednesday of the month, when welfare checks come out, then the selection will be best, perhaps.

Speaking from experience I can second the belief that you can really find some gems out there among the obvious fear factors.

The move of approaching on foot will occasionally render you walking up just after someone else swooped down to pick her up in his car, BUT it will save you money in the long run given the added vibes you can pick up during your walk together, before she gets into your car and before you get ripped off.

I can't even recall the last time I was ripped off by a working girl on the streets. Don't let them into your cars until you have a very good sense of their sincerity. It is a two-way bargain and if they hold up their end then they deserve some respect for doing so.

Hope this helps you and others.

I'm sure it will.

Nice response there SSRSP.

One thing that no one else has ever mentioned and I've only seen it posted once long ago was the "4 play factor"

Someone once posted that they can't/don't see SW's because of the wham bam thank ya mam way it'a all done. They can't get a wood that fast and need more 4-play time.

So seeing a SP and having to not be so rushed was his only option.

Check out post #10 in this thread for some area info:

Another place where there is some mid action is Broadway
between Fraser & Victoria.

Low might include Hastings from Cambie to Clarke & Main from
Hastings to the Venus theatre. Perhaps your best bet in all that
is at Gore between Hastings & Cordova.

Re afternoons the low track may have some offerings but at any
given time might also be dead, even in the evenings/primetime.

Other than that, i suggest reading all discussions started by
hitrack & Hatrick, be safe, & very careful, especially on crackrow.

Don't

our boys in blue are pretty hard core when it comes to the SW trade in C-Town

HFS
I have to agree HFS. It has been noted time and again that through the years the SW scene has gone down-hill. As mentioned, there are still some good ones out there, but it is pretty risky in Calgary.

I'm always on the lookout for a sting in progress and when I see a new SW out there, even if she is hot, I always wonder if she is working with the police, or just in from out of town. More times than not I just pass on by because it is too risky.

I have only recently started approaching SW's on foot, and it seems to be working well. I have been scammed a couple of times after driving by and picking a girl up quickly so that we can discuss the details off-track, but when they are already in your car your options can suddenly become limited.

Good luck finding what you are loking for Scapture, the Calgary scene can be tough with pricing and selection being what it is these days, but there are still some good finds out there.

isnt that the backside of the cop shop? even though i have seen some nice looking blondes there in the past, picking one up there just seems like a bad idea. way too easy for a sting.

Ga-ga-ga, uh-uh-uh...whu-whu-whu (sounds of a star-struck individual)

Um, er, uhh, eh, you have long been an inspiration to many on this message board, and I, er, am, honoured to have drawn the slightest praise from you.

If I could change but one thing, sir, it would be fun, just once, if you began one of your evenings out by somehow just happening to avail yourself of an over-priced, over-rated cup of designer coffee. Maybe in a scenario where you're out with a friend, and then opt to head home your separate ways, he/she could buy that cup of joe, so as not to significantly alter your on-street budget.

Aside from that, I have learned and understood so much because of your contributions on this board over time. I find myself knowing some of the little wide spots in the downtown eastside that you mention, and being completely oblivious to others. Your reports have really helped me at times.

Congratulations on your upcoming 3000th post (I wonder who is going to win the pool), and may you not have to resort too many times, in the future, to the "GTH".

PS - I DO totally know what you mean about the "4-play factor". So many of those girls, especially the high track types and those who would hang around inside the strip club across the street (name escapes me now) are the sorts who would go back to a room with you, hike up their skirts, with boots on, and fellate you to (barely) workable erection and then encourage you to stick it in.

May as well be at a doctor's office when he says: "OK now you won't feel a thing..."

There was a time when that was a concern to me also,
but now i feel that standard pickup procedures apply.
This summer, however, extra caustion may be in order
since LE claim they will be cracking down on cracktown.

As far as i am aware the cop shop is located at the
corner of Main & Cordova where i often see their cars
parked out front. They can also be found in the alley
out back between Cordova & Hastings, maybe 5 in a
row. On Gore, however, i seldom see any LE.

Stings seem to be quite common up on Kingsway, but
i've never heard of one being on Gore. And the only
one i was informed of in that general vicinity in the
past two years was one block East, at Dunlevy and
Cordova {near the Patricia Hotel on Hastings}. But
if the Gore block still concerns you, Dunlevy between
Cordova & Hastings may be your next best bet. Any
undercovers may be pointed out to you by the real
working girls.

Tonight at Gore i saw a couple SW's you need not be
concerned about talking to, Candy {pretty, busty
brunette} & Elizabeth/Liz {40's}. Some other regulars
that hang on that street are Lisa {30-40's} Barbara
{short, 50's}, Little Crissy {cute, short, looks 18}
Patty {30 ish, slim, pretty, short hair}, Megan {bitch},
Sophie {French accent} & Jamie {cute, 20's}. If some-
one posted or PM'd me pics i could let you know who
may be LE & who definitely isn't. None of the above
were "blond" last time i saw them.
