Was a surprised they match the prices of chat r and wind today. I called to give my 30 days notice and expected them not to match the talk anytime plan, with text, and voicemail. In the past i was with fido and got people who tell me to just go to the cheaper company. Customer service said this is new plan is new to existing customers only lol.

Thats because Fido does not want to lose customers....Chatr is run on a 2G network where Wind is running on a 3G network...just went in today to top up my phone and I was told of the latest development for Wind's network....they reached an agreement with the City of Calgary to use their existing phone poles....by strategically adding repeaters they can rapidly expand their network coverage at a fraction of the cost of building cell towers. The same technology was used to create the cellular network structure in Europe.....Wind ROCKS.

Wind ROCKS
I disagree, Wind blows wind.

The whole industry is pathetic. Providers just say they have the most reliable network, fastest network or least dropped calls but have no way to proove it and even if they did no one can believe them (small thing called "conflict of interest").

Rogers VS TELUS VS Bell
Wind VS Chat-r VS Fido VS Solo VS Koodo
Blackberry VS iPhone

The truth is out there but how can a consumer really know who's better?!

Chatr/Solo/Koodo are owned by Bell/Rogers/Telus...Fido is also owned by Rogers....Fido was originally a start up like Wind but was bought out by Rogers due to fear of competition...same way that Telus bought out Clearnet 12 years ago as Telus did not want local competition as they established their basic cellular network.

Overall the cellular industry in Canada is owned by a monopoly of 3 providers and they screw consumers over big time...with high rates and long term contracts....compared to the USA we get jack shit...we dont get roll over minutes and a lot less as well.I have had my Wind phone for 1 month now....in that time I have not had 1 dropped call...I have experienced a few places where I have not been in the data coverage but it is no big deal.

I have cut my cell phone bill in half and get far more benefits as a consumer.

I'm with Wind. Frankly, if I went to Roger/Fido/Chatr or any of the Bell Telus guys and said"gimme a discount or I'm going to Wind" and then they matched it......I'd be fucking furious. If they could have done that deal years ago why not? Cos they've been fleecing us for years. It's thanks to companies like Wind (and Wind is Way bigger internationally than you think) that the big 3 have been forced to change the way they treat us. If Wind fails, then we all go back to getting buttfucked by the big 3 when they realise the comptetition has gone again. I'd rather support the small guy coming in and forcing this change than see us all exploited again.
Wind is building their own network and shit like that costs a fortune. At least their network is 3G and the data speeds I reckon to be better than my Old Rogers and Telus phones. Also, cos its unlimited for a set fee, I KNOW that my bill is not going to come as an unpleasant surprise at the end of the month.

Viva la WIND!

Well, i noticed my total cost will be cheaper than Chat-R and wind for talk anytime, voicemail, texting etc and no contract at all. Ya i wasnt happy to be tied down to the dam contract for 2-3 yrs and was overpaying in the past.
