I have a few friends who after they got married their wives refuse to work and have mortgage payments to pay off. Im sure the opposite situation can happen also. Of course one of these guys lose his home and the other is on govt support. Im not sure why peop put up with this and let this crap happen.

This type of thing can be avoided if people discussed their plans / future BEFORE they tie the knot.

Most of the time I'm sure your right. But I am in a similiar situation and we did discuss it. She just did'nt wanna go back after the first kid turned 2 as agreed upon. I haven't brought it up in years cause all it does is raise my blood pressure and create stress in the household.

Actually, this has happened to a few of my guy friends as well. My friend who got married recently was under the impression that his girlfriend's family had a lot of money. After they got married, it didn't really seem that way.

He purchased a house thinking his wife would have a decent downpayment to help him out but she had a modest amount like $30,000 or $40,000 and he forked at least $200,000 as a downpayment. She doesn't work either.

A pretty face, sensual pleasure and open (at least at first) access to pussy makes many a fellow crazy. It's called projection, infatuation and desire for possession.

Do not plan marriage before age 30... even 33 is better. Date the gal at least three years immediately prior to any committment. Both of you need the time to understand each other's life motivations, goals, aspirations and how you fit, or not, together. Avoid fantasy at all costs as it is as hollow as the inside of a volleyball.

Certainly have a pre-nupital that defines not only financial aspects but also the expectations of the marriage. This won't guarantee avoidance of any change of mind but does represent each one's committment to each other. If you cannot write it down for each other, get the hell away. Maybe not so romantic on the surface, but adds reality to the marriage vows one undertakes, and, if you really think about it... it is an honest heart thing for both to each other.

That's nuts. How long did they know each other KYG?
Maybe 2 years. I believe marriage is a partnership of some. If the other can't contribute the same financially, then they should bring other things to the table.

I think some of you guys are talking about different situations..

A woman with children who stays home and doesn't want to work is very different than one without children.

The first (with kids) already has a job and doesn't want a second one! None of us know how much the guy would actually do to help with house/kids if she were to work outside the home. I've known women who got lots of help and worked outside and still had a tough time.. in the end, it's never quite 50/50. As for women who worked outside and got little to no help, I have no idea how they did it.

The second (without kids) just doesn't want to work... there's a HUGE difference.

Then there are also situations where the guy is a useless twat who is too lazy to work for any number of reasons and the llady has to support him. I have personally seen scenarios where the guy, due to laziness / stupidity / booze is unable to keep a job for less than a few months thereby forcing the lady to get a job while the slob looks after the child.

My next door neighbor is a guy who's a useless freak who lives off his gf. So, this can go both ways.

lol Keven Federline is my hero. I heard Spears is offering 25 mill for him to go away and have no contact with the children.

Ya heard about that too, but it seems KFed's trying to enhance his PR image somewhat, as he's said to have rejected that offer because he loves his son and doesn't want to totally give up his parental rights if he were to accept the money.

Seems like he's in a no-lose situation because eventually, Britney will make him a good enough offer that he won't refuse..but yeah whether its 25 mil or 30 mil or whatever amount, he represents a turn of the tables the other way for a change

Heres how it should be!
