FBI uncovers new terrorist plot targeting 40 US planes.

In a news conference this morning, FBI Director Robert Mueller announced the discovery of a new terrorist plot that would have targeted up to 40 US airliners.

“In what is a clear validation of the federal government's data mining operations, our agents uncovered unusual purchases of personal lubricants such as KY and Astroglide by unmarried young women of the Islamic faith," Mr. Mueller said. Based on this information and the known fact that Moslem women remain virgins until their marriage, the FBI obtained warrants and proceeded to install surveillance cameras in these women's homes, who numbered exactly forty, according to Mr. Mueller.

“Our agents discovered that these lubricants were being used by the alleged terrorists to facilitate the insertion of cigar shaped objects into their bodily cavities," Mr. Mueller continued. The FBI has determined that this was a dry run for a terrorist plot whereby these women would board planes with powerful explosives tucked in their bodily cavities, to be detonated in midair. The FBI believes that the involvement of forty women is very significant. "We believe these women wanted to go to paradise as a group of forty virgins to meet male martyrs," Mr. Mueller said. When asked why the terrorists would use women for such a plot, he replied that according to FBI analysts, women can carry twice as much explosives as men.

At the same conference, Michael Chertoff, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced an immediate elevation of the aviation threat level to RED for all flights originating in the USA. "Effective immediately, all passengers will have to submit to body cavity searches. We know that this will be an inconvenience to travelers, but the security of the public and our transportation system is our primary concern. We have transferred more than 20,000 prison guards from federal and state penitentiaries to this country's airports. These brave men and women have years of experience dealing with these kind of searches and they have been given instructions to make it as pleasant an experience as could be possible under the circumstances," Secretary Chertoff said.

I don't think ILTA was taking Private Testicle serious, rather that even for someone who agrees that certain groups (i.e. young Arab men) receive additional scrutiny his comments crossed the line and were racist.

All that aside I still think his original post was fucking moronic and a very feeble attempt to be funny.

Maybe I'm an idiot, but how is GG's post racist?

Seems like a very timely spoof of the Bush fear mongering campaign. Make a bogeyman out of Islam and scare the shit out of the American people so that Bush can more easily hack away their civil liberties. Use the war against Islam as a cover for the invasion and subjugation of the Middle East to protect American access to oil. Just setting the stage for the invasion of Iran. Remember the weapons of mass destruction fiasco.

This post satirizes racist profiling and attitudes; it doesn't condone it.

Peace.

The claim has been made that the post was racist. I don't personally agree but I am curious which line(s) were found to be offensive. So I'll number them and then someone can illuminate us.

  1. In a news conference this morning, FBI Director Robert Mueller announced the discovery of a new terrorist plot that would have targeted up to 40 US airliners.
  2. “In what is a clear validation of the federal government's data mining operations, our agents uncovered unusual purchases of personal lubricants such as KY and Astroglide by unmarried young women of the Islamic faith," Mr. Mueller said.
  3. Based on this information and the known fact that Moslem women remain virgins until their marriage, the FBI obtained warrants and proceeded to install surveillance cameras in these women's homes, who numbered exactly forty, according to Mr. Mueller.
  4. “Our agents discovered that these lubricants were being used by the alleged terrorists to facilitate the insertion of cigar shaped objects into their bodily cavities," Mr. Mueller continued.
  5. The FBI has determined that this was a dry run for a terrorist plot whereby these women would board planes with powerful explosives tucked in their bodily cavities, to be detonated in midair.
  6. The FBI believes that the involvement of forty women is very significant.
  7. "We believe these women wanted to go to paradise as a group of forty virgins to meet male martyrs," Mr. Mueller said.
  8. When asked why the terrorists would use women for such a plot, he replied that according to FBI analysts, women can carry twice as much explosives as men.
  9. At the same conference, Michael Chertoff, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced an immediate elevation of the aviation threat level to RED for all flights originating in the USA.
  10. "Effective immediately, all passengers will have to submit to body cavity searches.
  11. We know that this will be an inconvenience to travelers, but the security of the public and our transportation system is our primary concern.
  12. We have transferred more than 20,000 prison guards from federal and state penitentiaries to this country's airports.
  13. These brave men and women have years of experience dealing with these kind of searches and they have been given instructions to make it as pleasant an experience as could be possible under the circumstances," Secretary Chertoff said.

I thought it was pretty good actually. If someone had done this a month ago and padded bras was put in place of "cigar shaped objects" would this have been racist? My understanding is that one of the now banned items is gel bras.

The only person who said it was racist was ilovethemall, and he's not explaining why. The consensus seems to be that it isn't really racist, but it's also not nearly as funny as it was intended to be (or could have been). Maybe we should just let this thread die.

Oops, my bad. I had misinterpreted gravitas' run on sentence and thought it was agreeing that the post was racist. If I'd looked more closely and noticed it was gravitas, I'd have believed I made an error and would have re-read the sentence.

My brain is still noodle salad after yesterday afternoon. I'll try to be more careful.

As for people who thought it was lame, I disagree completely. The line about carrying double the load was genius. And the rest was good too.
