Antons pasta bar on hastings , haven't been for awhile but great prices and portions so big your getting a doggie bag.
Toshi Sushi in Vancouver. Main and 16th, in Mt Pleasant neighbourhood.
In Burnaby, Sushi Gardens. 3 locations.
The Thai House restaurant. North Van.
Not so much a restaurant, but my favourite place for champagne and blooming mushroom for sipping and snacking is 1927 Lobby Lounge at the Hotel Georgia 🥰

Just updating the list I put up early in this thread - went to Peppino's last night. Had not been since pre covid but it had always been good, fun atmosphere and slightly overpriced. Much of the original Nick's was still there so that was good and last night it still had that fun atmosphere, really loud at any rate. But holy shit talk about over priced. $8 for not that great focaccia bread, $27 for a plate of clam linguini which was good but come on. It's pasta F F S.

Agreed, always a festive atmosphere, always a big lineup and always, an even bigger doggie bag!
I have found maybe more than others, the Thai and Sushi places come and go at a pretty high frequency. In the Main/Broadway area, Sushi Yami was an outstanding place, very high value, excellent dishes, then sometime this past year things changed.
But same area, south side of Broadway, actually beside an AMP, find Carp. Tiny place, one sushi chef, his pretty wife serves, limited menu, no liquor license, best for take out but wow, talk about great sushi!!
It's been awhile since I've been there but if you finished the entire plate of pasta, you got a free pen that said "I finished the whole thing". I have 4 of those pens.
Please stop talking about tasty food...have been running solely on Starbucks since 5am and am starving...
