A few of my faves:

Po Kong (vegetarian Chinese and dim sum, best to go with large groups for maximum sharing)

Bandidas (veggie Mexican on the drive, awesome brunch)

La Belle Patate (I fucking love poutine, okay)

La Grotta Del Formaggio (not a restaurant but an Italian market and deli popular for their stacked paninis, perfect for getting a sandwich and heading to the park)

Various east Van sushi and pho joints, I don't necessarily a favourite but both are in heavy meal rotation.

Fuck, I'm hungry now...

Mmmmmmm sounds like it’s about dinner time here. I’ll play along.
Some of my favourites that my wife and I love going to.

Anatoli - Greek place on the North Shore, amazing food and atmosphere.

Indian Fusion - Delicious and extremely flavourful, the fish curry is one of the best I’ve had.

Coast - Great seafood place and atmosphere. If you have a good waiter or waitress and you don’t have any food allergies, let them take the helm for choosing your meals and wine. With a little guidance of course. (We’ve done this a few times and have been never let down)

HY’s steak house - what can I say? Need to experience it for yourself :).

Samurai sushi David street - Good priced, portions and freshness.

Score off Davie - Want a meal in your drink? This your place.

The Whip - Best Caesers I’ve ever had, get the Whip Caesar you won’t be sorry you did.

The Namm - Vegan or vegetarian only, delicious and creative dishes. Cool little atmosphere.

Meat on Main - Vegan and vegetarian only, delicious and nice atmosphere.

Fets - The best whiskey bar I’ve been to, good eats as well with very knowledgeable staff on all their drinks.

OK………….now that I’m thinking about it……..who wants to visit some of these places with me?? 😏

Fun idea:
Book your favourite provider for a dinner date to one of these places!
Done!

She does a package deal for dinner and “dessert”.

She calls it a ‘Date Rate’ session.

I Kno! Edgy right! Typed that veeery carefully I must say. 8 down, 115 to go. Love dinner and dessert! Mmmmmmmm.

Sal y Limón (Mexican)
Joojak (cold noodles)
Wangs (Northern Chinese)
Western Lake (dim sum)
Ahn and Chi (Vietnamese)
Toshis (Japanese sushi)
Tatsu (Korean sushi)
Oyster Express
Phnom Penh (Cambodian/Vietnamese)
Ask for Luigi (Italian)
‘Via Tavere (pizza)

you can’t get a decent bagel in this city. Solly’s used to be good, but I found out the owner is anti Palestine and Rosemary Rocksalt is pretty blah. i just have to load up on bagels when I go to Toronto or Montreal.

- Nightengale (fancy/so good/not to expensive. I take any visitor here)
- Gurkha Himalayan restaurant on Davie (Healthy, yummy goodness that reminds me of my time wandering around the Himalaya's)
- Giardino's (amazing Italian and I love people watching "The real housewives of Vancouver" there)
- Season's In The Park (Pretty views and great food)
- Red Umbrella (breakfest)
- The Pawn Shop (cheap tacos that are 10/10)
- The Greek by Antoli (Good music and the most amazing vegan greek salad. Better then any greek salad you will ever have)

It might not be my all time favourite but Cuchillo in Gastown has a really unique menu and is a must try. It's Latin American and the steak taco with bluberry jam and whatever else is such a weird combination but also incredibly delicious and you won't find it anywhere else.

Next on my list... Laowai the hidden Dim Sum place in Chinatown. When it first opened I heard the line was 2 hours. Looks pretty inside. I also wanna try Acquafarina, the Italian place that doesn't let you see a menu before you arrive. Anyone been to these?
Acquafarina is very good, they now have a’la carte menu in addition to their set menu (which is very good, but whole table must be prepared to have this). They have done a fantastic job with the room which is visually impressive.

Kits
got taken to Ancora last night and had:
Oysters
Crab cuasa
Sablefish w quinoa and bok choi
Peruvian cheesecake
FUCKING YUM
Ancora is excellent and at least you stayed with the seafood, clever girl! Last time there - pre covid - SO had the lamb chops which was the daily special. Lots of fat, very little meat and that was raw. Big mistake. "When in Roma, eata la pasta". Lesson learned.

Bella Roma on West 10th.
Great thin crust pizza and free beer if it's not ready when I arrive to pick it up.
