Here's an obscure one for yuh:

"Sweet and Lowdown" - the Woody Allen movie starring Sean Penn as the second greatest jazz guitarist of his generation and Samantha Morton as the deaf mute girlfriend who steals his/our heart. Witty, bittersweet, dare I say Chaplinesque in places. Will make you laugh and cry at the same time. Brilliant renditions of jazz standards done by the likes of Howard Alden and Bucky Pizzarelli.

Twin Peaks (so what if it's not a movie- still agreat soundtrack).
This was a David Lynch Movie as well as a series.

Angelo Badalamenti did the sound for that as well as some tracks for the Lost Highway one. (Red Bats With Teeth, Haunting and Heartbreaking, Fred's World, Dub Driving, Police and Fats Revisited)

To add some more,

Ray, Walk the Line, Trainspotting, Fritz the Cat, American Pop, and Full Metal Jacket. If you are into french music, Baise-Moi also has a great soundtrack.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Casino.
The Last Waltz.

That's about it.

Spanking the Monkey (1994), contained 5 tracks from Morphine's 1993 album "Cure For Pain". It served as a great introduction to their strange music. (for a rock band). I went out and bought the album and it's one of my favorites along with Morphine's 1995 album "Yes".

In no particular order:

Pulp Fiction and The Reservoir Dogs. ( I always laugh when I hear Stuck in The Middle With You, mental picture of Micheal Madsen cutting the cops ear off...) SD
Total classics! God knows how many times i've had to replace both.

Another one is the soundtrack for True ROmance

Outside Providence
Dazed and Confuzed

Both of these are good if you like tunes from the late seventies.

Crash (not the sex one) LOVE the vocals in lots of the songs. In The Deep is a favorite. The instumentals have lots of power in them as well and really tell some great stories.
Gone in 60 seconds.. love it

3000 Miles to Graceland - actually had more alternative/metal than Elvis stuff
Knockaround Guys

To Live and Die in LA was a great movie and soundtrack. The movie has Will Peterson from CSI back in his younger days around the same time as Manhunter.
