Favorite Movie Soundtracks?

H

Hardatwork

I've been downloading some music and there's been a few movie soundtracks that have repeatedly come up when I was searching for various artists or songs. It seems that I like Grosse Pointe Blank, Highlander, Serendipity, Almost Famous, and Donny Darko. Since this seems like a good topic for a thread I thought I'd throw it out to you and see if I get any more good soundtracks.

What's your favorite movie soundtracks?

BTW. The Wall by Pink Floyd, Tommy by the Who, Rattle and Hum by U2 and Purple Rain by Prince don't count as movie soundtracks in my thread... :D

Also I'm not interested in movie scores so Marvin there's no point in mentioning Star Wars - John Williams... :p

I like the 'From Dusk til Dawn' soundtrack.

Does the Rocky Horror Picture show sountrack count?

Lost Highway is another good one.

Yeah Lost Highway was great. I just got it for $8 in a remainder bin at the Bay.

For some reason I immediately thought of Taxi Driver. The sound track really captures the mood of the movie.

Latcho Drom (means "Safe Journey") about gypsy culture was amazing as was Buena Vista Social Club.

Best Soundtracks

In no particular order:

Kill Bill 1 and 2. (Awesome!)

Pulp Fiction and The Reservoir Dogs. ( I always laugh when I hear Stuck in The Middle With You, mental picture of Micheal Madsen cutting the cops ear off...) Let's not forget Jackie Brown.

The Aviator ( I like older music, especially Count Basie)

Lost Highway and Natural Born Killers (Trent Reznor, need I say more? NIN)

The Crow (The original. Especially "After The Flesh"!)

Snatch.

Randy Whorewald,

You pick "Glory". That is such an awesome movie and you're right about the soundtrack, beautifully done.

Gotta be:
Crossroads --- Ry Cooder
Say Anything

I'll have to admit that a guilty pleasure was soundtrack to 50 First Dates -- Reggae 80s, very interesting I thought.

Top 3 (off the top of my head):

1. Dirty Dancing (nice blend of original and compilation...I had two tapes, DDI and DDII, which I almost wore out....now I'm dating myself for sure :p )
2. A Knight's Tale (basically a straight compilation, but all good stuff)
3. The Wizard of Oz (not really in the same category, but just EVERYONE'S favourtie musical!! :) )
