I have gotten totally invovled in Alanis Morissette's acoustic rerecording of "Jagged Little Pill." Each song is better than the original and the album was already a classic. The first time I listened to this was a transcendent experience.
I am also a life-long Led Zeppelin fan. I listen to "Houses of the Holy" a lot. And "Physical Graffiti." And "Led Zeppelin IV."
One of the great acoustic guitarists of the 70's and 80's who passed away from cancer a few years ago, Michael Hedges, released a concert album titled, "Live on the Double Planet." Its a gem. Hedges even sings, a rare treat.
I also enjoy Yes quite a bit. Some of their old stuff is amazing. "Tales from Topographic Oceans" is pure bliss. "Relayer" is edgy and biting. "Close to the Edge" is beautiful and ethereal. One of their newer albums, "The Ladder" is as good as their old stuff. And then there is "Fragile."
And how can I forget Bob Dylan. "Blood on the Tracks" was the first Dylan album I ever owned. Its magic to me. Anything from the 60's, of course, with perhaps a nod to "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan." One of his newer CDs, "Time Out of Mind" is destined to be a classic.
Bruce Springsteen - "Born to Run" and "Nebraska."
Bruce Hornsby and the Range - "The Way It Is."
And some almost totally unknown artists from California (don't hold it against them):
Emily Richards and a CD titled "You Give"
Cindy Alexander and a CD titled "See Red"
There's more, but time does not permit
