Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
While not necessarily at the cutting edge, I've always thought I was fashionable and had decent taste in clothing.

I have a question about ties. More specifically about the length of a man's tie.
I have always worn my ties with a double windsor knot and the lenght just a inch or so below my waist line. Just so the tie extends to the bottom edge of my belt.
I've noticed that when I see guys on TV or in ads, their ties are often much shorter. Often they are a good couple of inched above their waist, which to me looks dorky. I've also found that when I buy ties now, thay are not as long as they used to be. For my tie to be the length I like, when I'm done tying my double windsor knot, there is very little left to tuck into the back.
It's not like I'm some 6'8" giant (I'm 6') trying to wear a kids tie.

What do you think? How do you wear your ties?
Ladies, how do you like your man to look in a tie?

Cheers

I wear my tie exactly like what you are doing now...
I find that the short ties look very ridiculous and dorky on everyone...it just does not look right at all.

On the side note, depends on what position you are in, sometimes if you dress too sharp at work..., it could cause jealousy from your upper management...it happened to me. Unfortunately, that's how I want myself to look - metrosexual male.

I prefer a single windsor knot (it's smaller and looks tighter...;), and I like when it reaches the belt line, for sure....not so fond of short ties, reminds me of high school, lol...and please, always tuck in the back!! It looks so much neater......perhaps they are making ties to be done in a single knot now, that's why the double is causing your tie to be too short...

I use the knot that is appropriate for the tie. For a very thick tie I use an overhand knot (4 in hand), medium thickness a half Windsor, and a full Windsor for thinner ties. I try to match the appropriate knot to the tie and collar.

Definitely not a fan of the Neapolitan, great for girls working in a restaurant, but not appropriate for a gentleman.
