Okay, there’s a few more pressing issues happening in the world right now (Ukraine, Gaza, Trump Tariffs, climate change), but I just gotta ask: what is it with folks wearing crocs during the winter?

I get that they’re comfortable and easy to get in and out of (I have a pair that I slip on to take out the recycling or go to the BBQ to tend a rib-eye), but in the winter? In the rain? Don’t their feet get cold or wet? I was walking behind an old Chinese gentleman (moving about as fast as a case of heartburn) and he was rocking blue ones with holes (5-degree C); two twenty-somethings (male and female) white and black at the bus stop. Guy in shorts the other day at the super market in white ones.

I will never be accused of being on the cutting edge of fashion, but can someone explain this to me? Is it just Vancouver or is this happening elsewhere in Canada?

I’m still working on why people in Winnipeg wear sandals and a pair of lite summer socks in -40 weather. So it’s not just a Vancouver thing but it can go the other direction as well, I’ve seen people from Florida and So Cal wearing winter boots and parkas in June up here.

It’s not that Crocs are bad or ugly (yes to both) but don’t your feet get wet in the rain??? Isn’t that uncomfortable walking around with wet socks or is it a generational thing?

Or crop-top sweaters????? Not quite sure I understand a sweater that leaves your whole midsection bare….

They’re making crocs w fur lining for the winter now .
Now you too can have hideous footwear all yr round.

I get wearing shorts,as women wear dresses in winter but I'm amazed to see ppl rocking t-shirts in December.I've seen at least 1 or 2 ppl, often teenagers in t-shirts even in the rain.

Teenagers are an inexplicable species. I was one myself once and I still have no idea….
