American Horror Story: Asylum was a complete mess. I heard so many good things about the first series (season... whatever you wanna call it with that show) but didn't have a chance to see it. So, last year when FX Canada was added to the cable line up, this was one show that I was looking forward to. For me, it was a HUGE disappointment. As a genre fan though, I have recorded American Horror Story: Coven on the PVR. I'm just hoping that it's more focussed than Asylum was. With Asylum, it was like they threw every horror genre sub plot in they could think of to see what would stick. It was all over the map because of it and most of it just didn't work. I know they tried to bring the threads together but it just never felt like a cohesive whole to me.

I'd think it wouldn't succeed on fox since it's sci fi and it looks big budget, so it will have to be a hit off the bat, but I guess it might get a lot of chances with JJ Abrams?
It's been running on CTV for a while! It's pretty good too; produced locally, JJ Abrams so production values are HIGH...
Looking good so far. The only exceptions are the the crime scenes, they look vaguely familiar to those in the Hannibal TV series.
I couldn't quite get past how THRILLED the writers seemed that their words would be coming out of Woody/Matt's mouths...did absolutely nothing for me, to my crushing disappointment. Had it PVRed and couldn't get more than 10 minutes into it....oh well..
