I love facebook and I am an insecure narcissist - so consider the study proven!

)It's not so much the pics as the constant status updates/news feeds: "Eating sushi right now. Yum....", "Getting ready for bed...", "Boss is making me stay late... grrrr."It's not hard to tell the narcissists on Facebook. They are the ones with hundreds to thousands of pictures of themselves.
Why is it so important to post these seemingly trivial tidbits of information? Who really cares??
A direct message to someone in particular is fine, but these things are just posted blindly for everyone to see.

Could someone explain what is the real value of facebook? If google dies tomorrow my business will be in big trouble and so will my finances, if craigslist shuts down the erotic section I will have to start reading GS, buysell and all the printed crap. If facebook gets erased I can not care less. So what if I can't see the stupid pictures of people that may be in the same office with me but with whom I haven't seen or exchanged a word with in a year? Ha?
So far facebook has been good at leaking personal information, phone numbers, etc, etc. More so, criminals are following stupid status updates and break into people's houses, etc, etc. A teen has committed suicide based on this addiction to this new type of media. Facebook is for media the same as doritos are for food.

No way ... I got nagged and nagged by the girls at work (before I quit my old job) and started filling it out and was just shocked by the amount of information it was requesting. I don't consider myself a paranoid person but it just didn't seem right.
I've seen on various crime shows that the L.E. use it to find people. Not only that but people just do things to take pictures of themselves doing them so they can make it look like they have an interesting life. It's not real.
the posts i hate are all the farmville/mafia wars etc and what people are watching at that particular moment. i use facebook only to chat with a few people that i dont normally see that often but still care enough to keep in touch.
same here, i use it as kind of a social messaging system for people i wouldn't normally email... and it's nice to see what ppl are up to from time to time
I'm not and I won't. But then, I don't own a cellphone. Who wants to be so easily available and so well known?
honestly i deleted my facebook account on there. i got too many ex friends that i do not want to keep in touch with. too much negativity there between me and them, also it's kinda annonying with some of the useless junk on there. to me it just makes my computer really really slow and probably my net response time. if those people still want to keep in touch with me, well, they gotta know other ways of getting and keeping in touch with me. as long it's the right people you know what i mean... besides if you have a productive lifestyle, then why bother being on there in the first place. i believe that facebook is just something to kill the "boring times" as how i like to explain it and as sonoman said "friends/family responding to updates is even more annoying". like wut tha phuck, is it like some popular contest on there??? anyways, that is just how i feel...

I love facebook. I would never know what to do or where to go, if it wasn't for facebook, lol 50 percent of my friends are dj's or musicians, so I keep in touch with all the fun things. Plus its absolutely fascinating to see what people are up to that I used to play with when I was a teenager. Farmville and all the rest of them, I could care less about, but I think its cute that my friends play them, lol
Oh, and I am so vain that I know that song was written about me I'm kidding, but I have never been called insecure so I must not be. As a matter of fact, when I was a teenager, I used to hear how did you fit through the door with an ego that big ?, by my loving friends. Occasionally i have flashes of insecurity, but then I'm like who said that? lol

I don't play any of the games, none, nata, lol. I have an extremely short attention span. and the games on facebook, um don't do it for me, lol
I only use facebook for a social networking tool, that's it. I like to know what band I like is playing where.
