They just don't get it.

Of course it my be me that just does not get it ..
They say it is the legislation that forces the ladies on to the street but that is not true . Because most sex trade workers work in doors either from escort agencies .. Massage parlors .. or are independent .. and work from privet residences... And most clients .. phone and book appointment .. either for in calls or out calls ...
The girls that are on the street have problems that a change in legislation will not solve ... i think everyone involved in trying to solve the SP situation .. are missing the point there is a problem but it is not the sex trade .. or the johns .? clients .. Sex is part of life .. money is part of life .. what some one wants to pay for sex is there business.... The drugs .. and crime that is out there .. is what they should be dealing with .. and we have laws to deal with that . Just enforce them..instead of spreading them selves all over the place .. just trying to put a show on for the public .. deal with the real problem .. It is not prostitution per say ... we are all there because we chose to be.. Dam it they don't need a study to figure that out
I am not made to go see an escort .. I lived with out sex for most of my life .. and most men don't get it on a regular bases any way .. we wont die with out it . As for the ladies .. they go in to the sex trade to make money.. more then they can if they work at seven eleven.. but do they all have to be in the business .NO.. some have drug habit . some are forced by pimp .. or to pay back debt.. but a large majority are doing it by chose... any problem ares in the sex trade have very little to do with sex .. they are the same as what is in the rest of society... If have some problems in the sexual area of my life they were thee long before i started seeing escorts ..
Their es no reason for any of the girls to be on the street if they don't want to be .. Basically just educate them as to what there opinions are . and fix our F*** up social system ..that does not care about people any more .. just the F***** bottom line ..
 Prostitution is not the problem .. the Pimps in our government our... and the sex trade is just a convenient ball to kick around .. because the morel hypocrite want to F***around in other people s sex life..
I am not mad .. i just making a point ..

Couldn't help but respond to this comment in that courier article:

Sex trade worker and activist Jamie Lee Hamilton said the Pickton trial is one of the reasons she has misgivings about including johns in the Living in Community project.

"These guys could be bad dates," said Hamilton, referring to clients with violent behaviour. "Look at john Willie Pickton. It seems bizarre they'd be asking the opinions of guys like that."
Am I crazy to think that's a pretty moronic (and insulting) statement? Yeah, we're all just like Pickton. OK maybe we aren't, maybe there are just a few johns like that. So lets say he shows up and his input is "well lets set the business up in the least safe way so I can get my jollies murdering people". So I guess the project directors will just say "OK, sounds like a good idea".

You could also say that there are "bad prostitutes" just as much as "bad dates". I am referring to those in the business only there to rip you off with no intention of providing services. I guess we shouldn't then include prostitutes in the survey because some are bad apples.

Overall the project sounds like a good idea and I think it's good they would solicit input from all parties.

Thinking about it I almost kind of worry that a "sex worker activist" might be construed as representing all sex workers (when they may not be). Last time I checked sex workers weren't organized/unionized with an elected representative. I think I may have heard this lady on the radio before and I'm not sure I agreed with everything she was saying. But then most people won't be 100% agreed on anything. At least she is trying so I'm not wanting to completely cut her down. I'm just curious how many SPs are in agreement with the platforms of various activists that deem to represent them.
