I've been to Sosua and have to say it's extremely scummy and sketchy. Sex trade happens openly at the beach bars. Crowds of super sketchy Haitian guys offering you very sad looking young ladies (I mean sad in the literal sense here). On top of that the beach itself is not nice (Atlantic side - rough sand and greyish sea), food is boring, you get harassed constantly in a threatening way.
Go to Thailand where there is WAY better food, way nicer beaches, great massages, friendly people, and sex workers who look like they want to be there
