Yes. It seems the investigation started because of a complaint from an escort who worked at another Calgary agency.

The defence lawyer is a former RCMP officer who understands how two-faced the city officials and police are about escorts. Even if his argument doesn't work, at least he's made more people aware that their municipal governments and police forces knowingly tolerate and license sex trade businesses that are supposed to be criminal in Canada.

There's so much hypocrisy regarding this issue that it's sickening.

The main issues should be to ensure the girls are working voluntarily, that they are safe (or a safe as can be, both medically and physically), that they don't bother the general public and that they pay taxes. What more needs to be addressed?
