Great night for some guitar music.
Los Lobos opened but I didn't find their sound to be very good. They produced a guitar fest reminiscent of a Latino Garage band fueled by a lot of Corona's and some Jose Cuervo Tequila. Perhaps with a better sound system I might have enjoyed it more.
Slowhand played for a couple of hours. It was a very different set list this time out. Lots of Bluesy songs from the CD long ago called "From the Cradle". Loved it. Layla acoustic version and Badge really stood out for me.
I noticed this time Eric went to a Gibson Les Paul Guitar in many songs that he traditionally used Fender. It added a nice, different tone to these songs.
Pleasant evening and it was great entertainment for a few hours by an artist who still has the voice and guitar licks to fill Rogers arena.
