I've bought a second hand lap top, a Toshiba with a DVD Rewriteable and the wireless feature, and have been using it for a few weeks.

The operating system is Windows XP and I've forgotten my password.
The password hint doesn't seem to work either. :(
I asked the guy I bought it from and he seems cluelss.

How do I get back inside?
Any special function keys to press at the startup?
Just stick in a Windows operating disk into the CD-DVD drive? ;)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :p

I know a thing or two about computers but this one is over my head. :D

Since you have physical access to the box it's pretty simple.
There are free tools out there to change the SAM, there might even be bootable ISOs so all you have to do is boot off of the ISO and use the tool to change the SAM.
I bet google can help you find this pdq.

Just google "windows xp forgotten password" and a ton of answers will come up. Basically what you need to do is edit the SAM file with a Linux boot disc. Windows stores your passwords in a hash format called the sam file.

Here's a site to get ya going.
