Have not province
You know, it took 5 days until a perbert made a thread anything to do with the Vancouver Canucks after the hockey season started. I remember years previous when there would be an ongoing NHL thread in the lounge.

Vancouver Canuck fans should be excited about the future. At this scoring rate, Pettersson is on pace to win the Calder trophy as best rookie.

Should we be concerned about Brock Boeser? He hasn't been the same from the injury late last year. I think Juolevi will be a bust… Maybe a number 4 dman at best.

Demko? Goalies take time to develop but he didn't look that good in preseason

From a guy with professional hockey experience as a goalie I'm more excited about DiPietro over demko

Make Canucks Great. Elias has been electric and given us a reason to watch. An elite talent with a great shot, good hands and sees the ice incredibly well. Boesser is also a beast. Horvat provides skill and leadership and I think Virtannen breaks through.

Hopefully Virtannen gets a 20 goal season. Sometimes I think coach Green is too tough on him but I also hear Jake is a bit of a dummy sometimes. The guy can skate and shoot the puck. He just needs to put everything together. First round , 6th overall, hopefully not just a career third liner

I think Brock's having the same sort of 2nd year jinx that a lot of guys go through.
As for Juolevi, I hope he's not a bust and will get better, because they really need someone more than mediocre at that position.

I knew Pettersson was going to get hit in this game from the number of times he embarrassed the Panthers' D. He had a lot of space and each time the Panthers got near him, he was able to pass or skate away with the puck.

No problem taking him into the boards but the slamming to the ice is way out of line.

What was most disturbing is not one Canuck stood up for him or went after one of their top players. Sad when teams make it known their guys are vulnerable to dirty hits and there won't be a reply.

If the league doesn't hit Matheson with a suspension of at least five games then all their talk about protecting the talented players is simply talk.

right here and now
I don't know about 5 games, but there should have been a penalty on the play. The ref completely failed.
Biggest fail were the other 17 skaters that did BUPKUS.
C'mon, boys. FFS show some spirit for your fallen comrade and at least show some interest. Doesn't need to be a fight either. Just a group shove up against the boards and a good conversation. Any-fucking-thing.
Until these guys start backing each other up regardless of time of game or score or Coach's direction they will continue to be pushed around and be considered just a bunch of wanks. Beagle broke his arm, but what about Roussel? Schaller? Guddy? Virtannen? Sutter? Even Hutton or Granlund? How about Bo Horvat "future Cap'n" ?
Shameful.....
And do you think Quinn Hughes is clamouring to sign any time soon?

A Donald Brashear prototype,is what's needed.
Somebody who can be relied upon safely play the minutes, while winning it in the alley, until Canucks start winning it on the scoreboard.
I remember watching Brashear play for Washington Caps, while wearing the alternate captain,"A"on his jersey.
Brashear was then on a 14 game streak, without a penalty.
