A couple of weeks ago, I arranged an appointment with Elaine after a brief email exchange. She had given me her number and told me to call for her address before the appointment. I tried unsuccessfully to call for a couple of days before. No answer. I finally got an email from her, confirming the appointment for the next day, but with no details about the address of her incall. Perhaps unsurprisingly, I couldn't get an answer on the phone the next day either. The appointment time came and went, but as I had no idea where to go, there wasn't much I could do. She had my email address and my phone number, so she could have contacted me at any time.
She finally emailed me to apologize two days later. Her apology was profuse, but she didn't really give a reason why she missed our appointment. I'm a reasonable person- perhaps too reasonable. I think that many pooners would have given up and gone elsewhere, but I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. After all, a lady who had stood me up on what was to be my first visit later became one of my favorites and proved to be quite reliable. So recently, I emailed Elaine, and she agreed to see me. She emailed me the day before to confirm, and I wrote back that I was looking forward to meeting her. This time I had her address. I was to go to her incall, and call her so she could let me in.
The day came, and I stood in front of her incall and dialed. No answer. I walked up to the door and saw what was clearly a note from her. Sorry, but she had gotten ill and couldn't make her day's appointments. I decided to call and leave a message and was surprised to hear a man answer! I asked for Elaine and the man said that she had gone home. I have no idea who the man was, and didn't ask, but I could guess.
I may just have been the victim of an unlucky set of circumstances. All the same, my enthusiasm for her has definitely been dampened. I think I'll just stick with my favorite next time.
