Edmonton Protesters Chicken Out

A group of protesters set up a blockade on the CN rail line just west of Edmonton early this morning. A group of right minded locals showed up later in the day and dismantled it. The protesters gave and went home. Albertans know how to deal with this type of situation even if nobody else does, including the lame-ass prime minister we seem to be saddled with.

Hate to say it, but the government and police response to these protests has been so pathetic, they are inviting vigilantism.

I'm no great fan of pipelines, but when the entire country's economy is threatened, and thousand are being laid off, it's long past time to crack down.

Any support I may have had is completely gone. It is simply beyond belief that any major Western nation could be intimidated by a few hundred people.

Anarchy rules, thanks to the head Minstrel in charge.

One port/terminal/rail line that has never been blockaded or protested is the Westridge coal terminal.Millions of tons of metalurgical coal get transported to it and get shipped out of it every year and never once to my knowledge has there ever been
a container ship accident or has a single killer whale been mowed down by one of the dry bulk vessels. That terminal is the largest met coal terminal in the Americas.

The big difference is that it is metalurgical coal and not oil/natural gas.BC is now on the radar of the Tides Foundation for the Coastal Gas Link pipeline. The Tides Foundation is channeling hundreds of millions into Canadian environment special interest groups and it began in 2004 when the oilsands in Alberta was going hell bent for leather and the Alberta economy was literally boiling over.

The goal of the Tides Foundation is not to save the environment. The goal is to stop development of Canada's energy sector as well as the building of infrastructure for the energy sector. The Tides Foundation has now turned it's attention to BC as the people pouring the money into the Tides Foundation dont want to see BC's natural gas get to tidewater for export. They want that natural gas land locked to be eventually sold to the USA.

The five dissenting Wetsuweten hereditary chiefs are running their protest under the Office of the Wetsuweten which has bricks and mortar in Smithers. It is an incorporated company and the ONLY financial backing they get for the most part right now is from the Tides Foundation.Taking money from a foreign special interest group to work against the energy development that is in the national interest is TREASON IMO.

As usual all you have to do is follow the money.

I would love to know how many of the entire population of protesters regarding the pipeline wear POLYESTER as part of their clothing fabric, or have ever operated an oil burning vehicle or any product made with oil products. Also, how many of them took time off work with no pay to protest? I believe they should voice their concerns appropriately and not cause others to loose their jobs.

go to Global Vancouver News and look for the video with this title

Tense exchange between protester, driver during East Vancouver march

https://globalnews.ca/news/6568795/climate-group-protest-vancouver/

the politically correct dipshit walking cliche, telling the aboriginal woman in her car why he's there

that's your typical protester, reality doesn't matter

I believe the Canadian public is rapidly getting fed up with the illegal blockades that have been set up and our do nothing prime minister who seems unable to deal with the situation .

This all started with the decisions of the Supreme Court saying indigenous people have their own laws, which then spread to separate, lenient sentencing, even for violent crimes and now these blockades that they can (rightfully) argue are their right.

Why? Is polyester made from liquified natural gas? Or are you confused about what the pipeline's natural gas is being used for? It ain't oil, so your post makes no sense.

The gas will replace coal in China, no brainer much cleaner.interesting we have huge coal exports , no US trust funds opposing this.
All frustrating
I would like to know how much tax the protesters contributed, mine has been a big contribution fortunately. Cheers

that's cause 30% of it is American coal, they don't care, cause they succeeded in blocking it from the U.S. west coast states

Trumpf wants to increase the amount going thru Vancouver, cause he can't get it to the American west coast, California, Washington, Oregon, won't let them ship it there

What don’t you understand about polyester being a petroleum product and the anti pipeline crowd being anti petroleum as well? Like all canines though you excel at trolling for attention.
