I think we will see a lot of Ladies leave the business. The good ones will survive and they should be able to hold their prices.

That may seem like a bad thing to some, but in my opinion, if I get good service, I don't mind paying for it.

I feel the market is saturated now and like any business the top performers will survive, and the ones that road the wave will finally hit the shallow waters.

It's the same all over MPs really.

Gals that had 5 clients a day, now have 2 on a good day.
Lots of gals blanking a lot.

It'll probably pick up next winter I guess.

I lost my job recently, so I'm more or less out of the game now except for emergencies lol
I never thought of starting a Pooning emergency fund. :D

My boss cut my hours for January and Feb but still working. So, laying ( or not laying ) a bit low now from this hobby. Hopefully hours will go up in March or April.

Good news: I haven't lost my job yet, in fact I'm still busy
Bad news: my pay is frozen
Good news: I have a bit more disposable income thanks to lower interest rates
Good news: It's now easier to book my favorite SPs. In fact, I saw one fave a short while ago, I was her first appointment and it was 9:30 PM
Bad news: lack of free time plus age and health is limiting my pooning

Only two temp workers were let go at my work so far. I've been on vacation for the past week and a bit though, since work is absolutely dead.

I don't think I'll lose my job, but there is the fear that the parent company might shut us down for a few months.

I miss all the overtime also, which last year at this time, I was doing about 40-50 hours of every two weeks.

i'm in the car industry myself. the dealers i work for have had very poor sales. the shop i work in which is owned by them, has slowed as well. we usually have 5 guys, but now down to 3. the way that we get paid is piece work, like mechanics. you get paid by the job. so for myself where i am used to getting paid for 20 hours in a day, and now only getting paid for 10 to 15 in a day hurts.

it has put a bit of a crimp into my pooning, but hey i am so glad that i have a fav. i don't get to see them as much as a couple months ago, but they are still totally worth it.

Outside of the bedroom, I work in the Oil and Gas Industry. Our company has pledged no lay-offs and stated that oddly enough business will only increase for us in the coming year. We've already hired 4 new employes since Jan 1st and are told there will be another 10 by June. We work closely with the big names up north and are told that some of the bigger projects (millions of dollars) are still going through with construction
that sounds weird. just saying that because i know people that work in Fort Mac, and a few of the huge projects up there are being put on hold indefinitely.

I think a lot of folks are like myself. I haven't been personally affected (apart from god-damn investments, but that's another story...) but I'm not as free-spending with discretionary funds as I was 6-12 months ago. Definitely cutting back.

Like everyone I think the SP's may have to adjust rates...I never barter or ask for a discount I just choose not to partake...

I have the same approach. But I have a tough time with car dealers as well. I just rather not go through the hassle to barter. It just cheapens the experience. I have been doing the bar scene, and that has been a rather productive experience. When sticker prices get in line, I may return to the mp scene. Until then, good luck to all. So far this month, a thousand dollars saved.

You know, in a few years time, according to some folks at my work, also oil and gas industry, gas will probably hit 2-3$ a litre.

It'll be good for me then, and I suspect everyone will start switching to electric cars soon after that.

Chevy Volt anyone?

A prediction.

Hey Wolvie, hope this is nothing too serious and that you can get back to form soon.
Nah, nothing serious - thanks anyway. The Christmas break plus a couple of bad colds kept me out of the gym for a long time and I am now grossly out of shape. And the older you get, the harder it gets to stay in shape and to get that testosterone pumping and the gonads all fired-hot.

Any idea as to what is the acquisition price of the Volt, as the Clarity is a 600 monthly lease and I have heard it is about 60% of the price of the Volt
i work for 2 GM dealerships and have asked about pricing for the Volt. no price as been confirmed as of yet.

What scares me about the Chevy Volt is that it's designed to evolve quickly from one year to another (via software updates) - much like your desktop computer. If you think your computer is driving you crazy with constant Windows updates, wait till you own this car...

http://gm-volt.com/2009/02/12/chevy-volts-can-and-will-be-frequently-updated/

Not only will you have to plug it into the power outlet every night, but you have to plug it into the Internet to receive its regular software updates to keep it running properly...;)
