Great, great concert with a narrative about "The History of the Eagles" which was as entertaining as the music.

They even had Bernie Leadon, the original lead guitarist/banjo player.

Last song was Desperado preceded by Take it Easy and Hotel California.

All i can say is that whatever god there is that Joe Walsh kicked Coke and Alcohol because he came to play and kicked ass tonight!

I saw them in 76 right after Mr. Walsh joined the band. I would have liked to have seen the show tonight though. Compare memories. Other commitments kept me away.

I'm thinking of picking up a ticket for tonight. Have you watched the documentary currently running on one of the movie channels? Awesome stuff. Music in general has been going down the shitter since the 70's and it's funny, I have a 5000 songs on my IPod but I always seem to go back to that time.

You bet, I picked up the 3 DVD set off of Amazon earlier in the summer.

I had no idea the concert would have a fair amount of that content whether it be spoken live or short videos in between songs.

I went Friday...a few empty seats, so no problem getting tickets but pricey at $220 each in the Clubs.....
I thought they kinda sucked, all very slow songs at the beginning, and they made the audience very sedate...then again, it was an older audience. Sound was very mellow, no need for ear plugs or turning down your hearing aid.

It didnt' get going until Joe Walsh started things with "Life's Been Good"....encore was good, and the floor seats were finally standing.....Joe Walsh again with "Rocky Mountain Way" and they finished strong.
We're all getting older I suppose....started close after 8, played for about an hour, short intermission and last chance at drinks, then finished up just after 11....

Thing I noticed was the number of people in my row taking bathroom breaks. Like the review in The Vancouver Sun said - the Eagles have an intermission now for bladder breaks for the band and the fans. :pound:

I liked the beginning, probably because I am older than you and The Eagles were happening when I was still in High School. I liked the way they came out one by one and added the history to each addition. Just sitting on the speakers on stage and doing some acoustic songs from their very beginnings. The second set was a killer IMHO. Guitar fest with their Felder replacement Steuart Smith and Joe Walsh Kicking ass.

I have seen them 3 X now and can easily say last nights was the best ever. Last couple you could tell they were in SP speak "mechanical" bwahaha. Probably the best I ever saw/heard was Don Henley when he played solo at Queen Elizabeth Theatre with a 20 piece band c/w horns and several back up singers. He probably lost money on that tour but it was a killer performance.
