right here and now
Same here.

I've done it in the past when I wanted to extend but was short of cash. Cash is king preferred though.
I've never gone into a session without some additional cash on hand "just in case...."

PayPal can freeze all the money in someone's account if they think it is for sex.
Be very careful with PayPal.

Yep. Extremely flakey. Some are so flakey they even abandon their deposits. I understand shit happens, especially since I require advance prebooking but I don't have an issue with rescheduling as long as I know several hours prior to the session and it's not a habit. But some pay, and then go dark. Its very strange phenomenon.
Given the nature of your niche maybe you should ask for 2x the session fee as a deposit and they can spend their session earning half of it back. :)

I know this thread is an "oldie but goodie" but was wondering what guys do about e-transfers when discretion is a MUST? I haven't done one for this before and I may never have to, but I do notice some ladies I'm interested in (in other cities) are starting to ask for it. Every e-transfer I've done before shows up pretty clearly on the 'ole bank statement. Is Paypal an option? (which I can then link to a separate credit card)

Thanks!
I personally, just won't book with them if they require it...there are many out there to choose from.

E-transfer......it's a hard sell, even if I were an exclusive client to a top-shelf SP.

To new SPs, I've never met? Never.

Personally if I was going to give money online like that, I'd rather do it with "tipping" over cam-sites featuring local ladies that offer "meet ups" if enough was donated.

Overall, I'm a cash upfront type of person, it's safer for both sides, imo.

Why not, if I am comfortable with the lady and her reputation....

The big thing is think with your big head not your little one.
I thought I had a good relationship with 2 SP’s & like any friend helped them out of a financial bind.
Still waiting on outcome but it’s been over a month with no contact & cancellation with one & the other is going through another rough spell. This time the big head is leading.
It unfortunately leaves you feeling used.

^ That's definitely unfortunate!

But what I'm talking about is e-transfer specific to an appointment. Some (more) SP's are expecting it when pre-booking.

wow! that's insane, didn't realize that  you should charge like 100% for a deposit then you won't lose any money in the end :D

The name your bank account is registered under will also show up in the "details" portion of your e-transfer. Do you really want to give this information to an SP you may never have met before? Especially in a country where selling sex is legal but paying for it is illegal. I understand that sex workers want to protect themselves and their time. But giving up one's cash and private information for an illegal act to an SP, (who may also be "flakey"), is quite The Big Ask. It's really understandable that many clients would be reluctant to provide all this. You'd really have to trust the lady. And if you trusted her that much, well why doesn't she trust you enough to book without a deposit??

Didn't know that. Good information to know. Thanks Westwoody.

You can set up a paypal account with a fake name and burner email account that is linked to only a credit card. No private information and nothing to freeze.
I would like to see proof of this.

My eBay and PayPal were hacked and the new security set up with multiple checks and approvals from my bank and two credit card companies are quite impressive. I don't believe you can fake them out. Name and address - check, bank institution and account - check and the same with the credit cards. This took 7 business days to complete.

They want your bank account just in case someone tries to defraud a buyer. Credit cards can be cancelled with a phone call.If you sell something that is not what the buyer was promised; eBay & PayPal initiate an investigation which includes locking down the amount owing in your bank account to the buyer.

I can't see how it could be as simple as what you have stated. It's totally contrary to what I went through to get back online again.

God that's ridiculous. I was constantly providing backup to prove it was me.

Hacker is in Russia and all the purchases were in the EU. Good news is I got every dollar and Euro back.

PayPal can and will freeze the sp's account. All of it, not only the escort income.
I couldn't care less about losing a hundred bucks, my concern is with a woman losing several days' income or more.

Regarding deposits in general: If you don't want to pay a deposit, move on, don't bitch at the woman requiring it.
Don't ask someone who clearly asks for deposits to make an exception for you.
If you get turned down don't send a dozen texts full of swearing and threats.
When you throw a tantrum you are proving why deposits are necessary.

^ Agreed! I see more & more SW's on Twitter saying the same about deposits. Yes, there are SOME flakes that have ripped off clients but the alternative is rolling the dice on LL (the various fake ads or scary ppl that are mentioned on this forum & others). Spend a little time on this forum or on Twitter and you can get a pretty good sense of the professionals, women who are serious about setting up time with good, reliable clients.

My concern remains setting up a deposit method that's discrete and protects all parties.

Lets say a clients day falls apart and he fails to show with no advance notice. Lets say he respects you, values your time and wants to see you another time in the future. Lets say he wants to send you compensation for the missed date.

What percentage of the of the previously agreed compensation would you expect him to send so that you consider things square and are willing to see him another time? All? Half? Is it possible to put a fair price on a no show?

Hopefully more ladies will comment but for me it would be on a case by case basis. If I was sitting there all dressed up, make up on, and turned down other clients then I would charge the whole fee. However, if he had given me some notice and I wasn't sitting there all ready I would only charge 25%, maybe less if I was in a good mood. :monkey:

So all your investment is in preparing and setting the time aside while the entertaining is not an imposition. Sounds like a great attitude.

All business has the same inherent risks...this isn't solely the realm of sp's lol. Anybody who owns a business understands those financial risks. If you choose to mitigate those risks with a deposit..you will lose customers....but the few you have will pay their deposits. As you all can see most clients are extremely reluctant to use deposits and e-transfers. I don't understand why you business operators..which is what you are...feel that all of the financial risk should be placed solely on the shoulders of your clients.

Honestly, since I started requiring a deposit, my clients have all been amazing. The ones willing to go that extra mile to make me feel safe and respected are the only ones I want. There's always been a way to work around issues (subtle PayPal donation transactions if they're international, or LOC payments for discretion). The idea that I'd compromise my whole brand and reputation (1200+ twitter followers, positive reviews here, etc) for $100 or for revealing someone's personal information is preposterous, and I'm not interested in clients who don't understand that. At the end of the day, I'm inviting a stranger into my home which is me risking my actual life; much more than any client is risking. I paid my dues when I started with my share of horrible, last minute, sometimes frightening or abusive clients until I built up the reputation I have now. My advice? If you see a provider without a deposit and have a good experience, leave her a review wherever you can so that she can start doing it as well. We're all safer that way.
