Oops. Correction to my earlier post, if anyone was reading that. I was talking audio-speak and applying it to video, but that's not right. A person CAN watch a digital signal "directly" via an LCD monitor.
So Savage is right. Go with the DVI output. When you use component-video, the signal comes out of your satellite box as digital, gets converted to analog and sent through your component-video cable, then gets converted back to digital when you see the picture. If you use DVI, the digital signal stays digital throughout, and theoretically gives you a clearer picture.
