I have a copy of Nero 7 Ultra Edition. Which I bought. Also have several movies that I want to burn to DVD.
I can't figure out what to use on it. Which program to use. I have my codec files set up so that should not be a problem.
Just need to know how.
The tutorial disk is lousy. Hard to make out.

Thanks for your help.

i use the more labour intensive method of using dvd decrypter, then dvd shrink and then burn with dvd decrypter. on the chance that the dvd has protection, i usually do a search on the web and mostly am able to use vobblanker.

i was able to download a good dvd copy of memoirs of a geisha for the gf, but it takes a lot of hours to convert.

good luck.

I use DVD Fab Express now. Its fast , easy, and has built in decryption. I recommend it. Its about $30. US. Of course you should never, ever, copy copyrighted material.

I just use DVD shrink. It;s free. I burn right to disc with it, with no problems. Does everything.

Still having problems.

Last night I was trying to burn a copy of "Pirates" the new pron movie on to DVD. I had it all downloaded. I ran it through DVD Shrink to make it fit on one DVD. The Encoding seemed to be fine. I could see it with the little video preview window. It looked fine. The whole movie was there.
I used Nero 7 with DVD Shrink to burn it.
When it finished I played it back and got garbage. All I see is a divided frame.
You know when the old movie projectors would screw up and it looked the film was tracking wrong.
These are from .vob files.
Anyway I am getting frustrated. I do have a copy of Gspot so I can check the encoding, which I did do. Maybe I am missing something. Or nor doing something in the right order.

What section Of Nero 7 should I use for burning DVDs they are not CDs or Data files. I don't have a Nero Manual .

I also have Power ISO if that is any help.

Thanks for your help.

sounds like your taking your downloaded .avi movies and want to put them on DVD.

Before I say another thing, check out stores like NCIX.com. They sell set top DVD players that will play divx, xvid, mpeg 1,2,4 movies files. No need to burn anything, just copy to a DVD-rw and watch then erase.

The harder way is to grab a program called winavi and make the .vob files, or DVD santa. With your .vob files open NERO and burn. I use NERO express, and version 6. NERO 7 was botchy as hell, but I had a d/l'ed copy so maybe thats why.

What kind of file is it that you are trying to burn. I just save everything as an ISO, then burn it as an image. My dvd player does not like it when the movie is compressed too much. If I use over 85% compression the movie tends not to play well or at all. Are you just doing a "BACKUP" or are you "REAUTHORING".

Just go to Futureshop and pick one up. They aint high end either. Like 100 bucks. Progressive scan to boot.

Nero 7 is a POS compared to 6. Couldn't even burn audio CDs properly. They all skipped. I ended up goin' back to 6.
