Any good spots to go for a drive and see the sites around Calgary?
Banff is a really nice drive especially if you are used to Manitoba flatlands. Extra points for visiting Moraine Lake, featured on our twenty dollar bill.

Take a drive on 22x on the south side of the city. It will take you past spruce meadows, and to Priddis and Bragg creek.

Winnipeg + FMTY within Canada
On the way to Calgary a small detour up to Drumheller and the Royal Tyrell museum is worth it especially if you have any interest in palaeontology.
I haven't been there since I was a kid. It would be fun to revisit!

Taking a cruise down Memorial Drive gives you great views of downtown across the Bow River.

Also, hwy 40 also know as the Peter Lougheed highway is a great drive. It’s the highest paved road in Canada. Only open spring-fall. Watch out for wildlife.
