Anyone catch it Sunday night on CBC? Very good production values. All the press on it said how they wanted realism and tried to avoid stereotypes. Good thinking, but the entire script seemed full of stereotyping to me. I guess they thought it was daring to give the Chinese cop a white wife. Nice shots of AMP girls. Anyway - second part is tonight.

I believe the Chinese guy in the following pictures was the actor who played the ''enforcer'' on Dragon Boys.

I think all the Asian types should be called "Wong" and there should be the guy who controls it all who has a Fu-Manchu type long beard and super long fingernails painted black, and hanging on him will be this real sexy Chinese bitch with one of those tight red hong kong dresses and super dark mascara with points on the sides of her eyes to make them look real cat like and even more slanty. Then there should be this really tough looking caucasian dude, ex cop but he's been asked to come back out of retirement cuz he knows about the Asian types seeing as he married a real submissive Japanese wife who licks his asshole every morning before serving him breakfast, who by the way he hoodwinked out of ESL school by telling her he was the Chief sarge (he was a beat cop, but she'll never know the difference and never pry). All the young (caucasian and some new asian ones) cops think he's just an old fart, but soon he commands their respect and two of them tag along so he can show them the ropes. He takes them to the local pub and 6 pints of draft later, really tells it like it is in those AMPs and how they're gonna be big heroes saving those sexy Asian bitches from the yellow horde: those pimp bastard little Asian guys with the drugs who have enslaved them. The two young'ens are impressed and they go and brag to the rest of the force that they're gonna go save the day. Some of the white female cops with the blonde hair wrapped in a bun (looking more like swedish airline stewardesses) seem impressed. Maybe after rescuing some yellow skin they can get some female white meat to finally treat them like they deserve.

Wow, the second half really fell flat. Ambitious wife, suspended cop, kidnapped daughter of cop, unexplained body in trunk, suspended cop setting up gangster, tender-hearted enforcer- cliche,cliche,cliche. CBC braniacs must have liked it, though. I hear they are already planning a sequel picking up three years later. I can hardly wait for the series - DaVinci's Dragon.
its a shame really. this idea could be a great show if it could just be done right. but i'm with gbm on this one. any time a show or movie is asian based, there absolutely has to be an old man with a long fu manchu running the underworld show.

I just finished watching this 2 part series.
I don't know why people on here are harsh on the show. Yes there is the typical hollywood touch put into this. But overall I thought it was a great show.
If they put another longer mini series of .....it would for sure watch it.
I liked it.
The second half was a little slower than the first part I thought .
What I did like was the nice decor of the AMP.
Are there any AMP in the lower Mainland that really look like that ....decor wise?
I never been to one like that.
