I haven't pooned for a while now. I went downtown today to workout with a personal trainer. Something came up and he canceled. Since I was already in DT, I decided to call up Harmony-bc (only seen her once, she was awesome, haven't pooned since though). Tried her three times but she didn't answer her phone. So, I started surfing craigslist on my mobile. Called this "original Jojo" took her addresss and went to her place. But I couldn't find parking anywhere close (within 4-5 blocks either side). I really hate going to downtown for pooning, finding a parking spot is ALWAYS a huge problem.

I suspect PERB should lobby the city to have a few pooner's designated parking spots somewhere along alberni and bute, central location of most micros are. what y'all think?

I'm sorry, I missed you. :( The parking is always easy around my place.
My phone was on silent. I did not really feel like working today. However, if I had of known you were going to call, I would have answered. :)
I hope you had fun with Jojo, to make up for your frustrating day!
No worries. I called out of blue/on impulse. I shouldn't be pooning yet anyway (I keep missing gym..shouldn't be rewarding myself for failing to stick to the routine). Yes, I know parking around your place is easy but I couldn't get hold of you.
Magicmysterydude, is this post really about the anger you feel when you can't find a parking space? It seems to me it's a mini rant about not being able to book with Harmony-bc. You're in Vancouver, obviously, so why didn't you take the skytrain or public transportation?
It's a rant alright. But about scarcity of parking. Oh, I could take public transit but I usually don't because I often make plans on impulse. I might (
and often do) feel like going to some place which is not easily accessible by transit. Besides, in this particular case, I went to see my trainer (and he has underground parking in his building) and I didn't know what I was going to do after that (didn't plan on coming back home straight away).

For downtown I just park under Pacific Centre...it's all night, and I can walk anywhere from there....good exercise. Bye the way, it is pretty cheap too! Just don't forget where you left the car....ME! getting a ride from the security guards to track down my car...always back track!

Vancouver is a pretty easy city to park in if you don't mind walking a block or three. There is usually pretty good meter parking during the day. North of Georgia and west of Burrard is always an option.

Use the pay by cell phone service. It's really cool. If you need to double up on the limit, pay with coins then call in your # when the coins expire.

At night definetly Pacific Centre.

As long as you're only going to see a girl for an hour, try the parking lots of banks or safeways.
Just make sure it's not obvious you're not a patron of the place!

PS- damn, harmony, way to sex-up the thread with that hot pic of yours!
I second that!:p

I wouldnt say the parking is bad, its all those one way streets. Say you miss your street and you want to turn around at the next block, you cant because its a one way street, so you have to drive a block or two down further THEN turn around

Magic I can let you know about some free 2 hour parking not that far from Harmony's place. No hassle parking and a great experience with Harmony, couldn't ask for more.

Well you could.............................

i got downtown parking

i know the stress and frustration of driving around and around looking for a non existent spot to park:eek:

so for that exact reason i rented a parking spot in my new place.
So far either people have walked over or found a spot as there are lots of meters close by but its nice to have it available.

PARKING IS HORRIBLE DOWNTOWN!! I find it nice when the SP has provided parking but so far have not had good luck with that.

There's a parking lot under the Shangri-La for Urban Fare shoppers. There's two across the street next to Tim Horton's. There's another under the London Drugs across the alley.

That's four, off the top of my head, within two blocks.
