Doublemyspeed.com (looking for feedback)

I listen to Satellite radio and heard an advertisement for:

www.doublemyspeed.com

It promises to clean up your computer, eliminate and spyware, adware, etc.

I went to run it and it wants me to download a program called: cyberdefender.com

I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this program and what their results have been.

Appreciate any feedback.

I personaly Use Ad-Aware and spy-bot.
they both work very well

If you do a google search on "doublemyspeed" (or it's original name "cyberdefender") and "scam", you get alot of hits and alot of complaints.

Apparently, they change their domain name quite regularly so as re-brand themselves.

The app does little or nothing beneficial. It will report that you have many many registry errors and that it's supposedly causing all kinds of performance losses on your pc.

Registry errors can slow down your PC, this is true, but not enough to cause a 50% reduction in performance. More like 1-3%.

Microsoft released Security Essentials for free not too long ago. It's both spyware and an antivirus program. Works well for me so far.

Rightnow I use CCleaner and NOD32..which I've heard both good things about..and have come highly recommended.
