Does anyone know why there are often separate reviews of the same SP either on the same day, or a day later?

Seems to happen quite often, and it always seems strange, if not suspicious.

Why not just add a review to the first one, especially if it's a new review?

I think some people just think they need to start their own review thread. Me personally I think it's easier to find an existing review or 411 question and add my little review there.

When it becomes suspicious is when the reviews are polar opposites of each other.

If you are searching a pooner by thread and they have posted their review in another's thread; you won't see it.

I think separate reviews are best no matter if they are posted on the same day.

There is no harm posting in the first person's review or 411 too.

Check your closet..:)
Maybe they don't check to see if she's been reviewed before. But 2 on the same day is weird.

A new thread works better for the reviewer to establish credibility and eliminates the risk his review will be deleted with the OP's thread/account.

As for multiple reviews a day, I also don't believe in coincidences that much. Some of possibilities:
  • The SP asked clients to write reviews. Nothing really wrong with that, though there is some bias as she wouldn't ask an unhappy customer. Same as with single reviews, I'd more likely trust a known reviewer and less a new reviewer(s) even if there are multiple.
  • One member read a review and didn't agree, so wrote his own. It happens.
  • Less likely, one member read a review he agreed with, but decided to share his perspective separately.

I always start a new thread when I write reviews.
It's easier for people to find it that way.
When a review is hidden on the third page of a 411 thread that was started 2 years ago, it takes a lot of effort to find.

another reason is that the provider that's being reviewed will search all her reviews, or just recent ones, and post a "thank you" and then the reviews get bumped to the very top of the listing
