Had two scummy sales type show up at my house. Told me the hot water tank is free and can save us 20.00 a month. Was a bit suspicious and they tried to get me to throw out a fairly new hot water tank. Called Terasen gas to see if it was free. Was told it's hardly free and gotta pay monthly till the tank is paid off. Lots of older peop in my area who own homes who might be stuck paying off this. They are rather convincing the door to door ...telling people it's free.

call the cops on 'em - tell the cops any old story you wish but imply that you thought they were casing your place out for a later robbery... after the cops put some heat on 'em they just might move on to a friendlier city
Tell the to fuck off and slam the door in their faces......nothing worse than scamming door to door salesmen.....and FYI "Just Energy" are the worst....they try to rope you into a BS contract that doubles the cost of your natural gas and makes you pay 10X your rate for electricity.

I've never had a hot water tank salesman show up at my door. But had the salesman type with the fake handshake talking about just energy before. I usually tell them i dont live here ...just visiting friends.
