Man-0-man I was waiting for someone on here to post about this. Apparently the flashlight is pissing alot of people off. As soon as mine downloads I'll be playing it.
CD 1 and 3 are about 25% and CD 2 is just over 50% So give me a couple more days and I'll be there. I guess I could use Kazaa and be done alot faster, I just don't trust Kazaa, jerked me around to much in the past.
I've also tagged every Star Trek movie as well.

Kazaa sucks. I think they're now controlled by the spam generators "Advertising.com". Try Lime Wire out of the UK! Their engine is cleaner, and it actively scans downloads for errors...hitrack said:

The funny thing is ... I saw this game out on the store shelves over a month ago.

Too bad I didn't pick up a copy. I'm not much of a DOOM fan, but I picked up the box and checked it out. Never snagged it... I remembered how sick I always got after playing DOOM 1 for a little while. That side to side action makes me ill.
Heh... but still, it would've been worth getting... imagine picking up a copy of a game not due to be released for a month... because some employee messed up and put it on display for sale when it was supposed to be in storage?
Man...if I had known then what I know now... meh... I probably would've bought it and sold it on ebay. :|

Maybe what you saw was the presale box for Doom 3. That's where you can preorder the game and be first in line when it comes out. It seems that stores like Future Shop are doing it more and more.
Sorry to burst your bubble CJ, but the game wasnt on storeshelves a month ago, they were just trying to get more people to leave a deposit for the game before it come out.
I dont really know where people get the idea that stores hold out on games for periods of time until it is officially released. Stock sitting in the back room waiting to be put out next month is money that is being tied up and not multiplying. Can you tell that i used to work in the video game business? Anyway, the earliest i ever saw something come in and be held back was two days, and that was only at the request of the company and at a cost to them of making sure that the whole chain got plenty to sell.
Most companies send their wares directly from the manufacturing to the stores to be put up for sale ASAP.
So that box that you've seen around town is the one that had the little pewter figure inside, and a guaranteed copy on day one.

This game ROCKS!!!!
It stays true to the original gameplay , but the detail and the sound is AMAZING. I waited to play it at night when I frist got it and it freaked me out . Also the screens u have to operate in the game seem very realistic. My computer is pretty hefty when it comes to power and I max'd out the resolution of the game..it slows down when alot is happening, but aside from that it's pretty smooth game. My videocard is the latest Ati Radeon Mobility 9700...but I had to download a patch of some sort in order to play it. Well...have fun guys!

So they were asking full price, in a box that didn't feel empty (it was a full stand of copies) with no signs saying "pre release" anywhere?
Other than being an isle end presentation, there was no fanfare or information anywhere to be seen. Just the product... which didn't have anything about "pre release" mentioned on it. Honestly, it looked just like any other display.
Damn, if they had been there just to get you to reserve a cop... I'd of been like "Yo biatch! I want my copy NOW!"
