On a side note, would any of you guys feel just a bit queesy if you found that the male doctor who performed your rectal exam was a homo?
I suppose if he was jerking off while he had a finger up my ass it would be a little unsettling but otherwise who cares if a male doctor is gay or straight if he is just doing his job? I'm not going to be getting a thrill from what he's doing no matter what his sexual orientation may be.

He was cool in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.
As for the gay doctor thing if you think anything sexual is going to happen in the exam room I think you have been watching to much porn...

No more creeped out than a hetero male gynocologist. There's a professional line between patient and doctor.

Hmmm....yeah, I always wondered how women could feel comfortable with that especially in light of some the recent allegations about MDs crossing the line, albeit perhaps not in that particular scenario.

Personally I find men have no business being gynocologists as they don't have a vagina and can't relate. In those cases I doubt the sexual orientation was brought to light, though it's pretty clear that it is but their hetero status isn't being focused on, whereas would one scrutinize a physician just based on their sexual orientation is just plain fruity.

Sexual orientation shouldn't be a factor in whether a physician can perform their job properly.

How dare you say those things about 'Doogie'. For your information, he is a close personal friend of mine and I don't know the facts or any of the information, but I think that the CNN article is incorrect.
Yuk yuk Yuk. Yup, I got all the info now. I just wish I wasn't told a different story from the source. But to be clear I stated the "I'm one of her closest friends."

I don't know about that. I bet the parents of girls taken advantage of by male physicians are questioning themselves as to why they didn't consider taking them to a female physician.

That maybe the case but it would be based on his gender and not on his sexual orientation.

Thats just fucking moronic. So by your logic unless a doctor has children they can't be a pediatrician, as I guy I shouldn't get a physical from a female GP since she can't "relate" to my prostate?

Yet their gender should? Interesting double standard there princess.

If I were to consider a career in medicine I can honestly say that going into OBGYN would be one of the last specialties I'd be interested in. Annual checkups aside women don't go to men when their kitty's are pristine, problem free and have the scent of rose petals. Just like with every other part of the body you see a doc when you have a problem so I can't imagine it being a sexual turn on to have a steady flow of stinky itchy snappers up on the table.

I didn't allude to that. "Doctor Gravitas I have this dull ache in my lower abdomen and it burns sometimes yada yada yada." A male physician would give a text book answer instead of being able to relate and offer some suggestions. I didn't say male patients shouldn't go see a female angdrologist but yes a female doesn't have a prostate and can therefore only give a textbook answer. Though, one thing to consider, females have smaller fingers making the rectal exam a little easier to handle.

Sexual orientation and gender are two different things. And it's not a double standard for the very reason I stated above.

That maybe the case for you personally, but that hasn't stopped the scores of sexual misconduct and malpractice complaints/inquiries, has it?

Thanks for putting it that way. Actually I'm overdue for one of those, my first in fact, and was thinking no way, no how is any guy hetro or queer going anywhere near my asshole.

You're right you didn't "allude" to it you concluded it. Granted it may be easier for someone to empathize with another if they've had a similar problem in the past but your logic simply doesn't hold water. How do you rationalize the difference in age? Should a menopausal woman only see an OB who's gone through that wonderful stage of life herself or can a 30 year old female doctor still be able to relate enough?

OK, are homosexual men cleared to become OBGYN's because there's no risk of sexual impropriety? Guess bi-sexuals are sort of shut out of the whole medical field aren't they.

You're so full of shit I can smell you from this side of the Rockies. Please oh wise one show me the scores of men who've been drummed out of the OB core because abusing patients.

While by no means the most happy of annual experiences its really not all that bad. You lay on the table on your side, slide the foot from your upper leg so its resting on your lower knee and the doc goes digging for gold with a VERY well lubed gloved finger. Pokes around for a bit and then you're done. The worst part is if they use too much lube and you have slippery ass cheeks till you can get home and wash off the KY.

If you want real grief with your ass wait till your first colonoscopy. If you're not given the option to receive a general anesthetic, DEMAND one.

Hmmm. Good point. The pre-menopausal woman couldn't empathize however menopause is experienced by all women, a text-book answer wouldn't hurt given as advice.

No, I just said sexual orientation and gender are two different things. Sexual orientation shouldn't play a role.

I wasn't necessarily exclusively speaking of the OBGYN sector in cases of sexual malpractice, I should've pointed that out. The complaints of sexual misconduct regarding male physicians have occured often during routine exams with inappropriate touching and comments.

Children don't usually really require any extra special attention in regards to their sexual and reproductive health.
