You check in with your SP on the day of a date to make sure everything is ticketyboo and you get a: "Sorry hun, might be half an hour late". Do you get that sinking feeling , like I do, that you just know they will, or might jam on you? I had a booking this week, that happened, then she tried to make ME feel bad because she had a doctor's appointment. I mean, she knew she had one when she took my booking, then made me try to feel like a schmuck because I was somehow insensitive to her medical condition. I planned my whole day around our booking and then get the runaround. She tried to make me out as the douche when I couldn't accommodate.

My point? I know it's awful when guys book then jam or try to change times, by how is it more okay for SPs to do so?

Does this happen to you guys? How do you feel and react?

I know you've been vocal about your love and support for me, so I'm going to go gentle on you, mistermetro.

Independent SPs get all kinds of short straw when it comes to time management and scheduling. We don't have set office hours. We do our own screening, so we need more time to make sure that our clients are screened and cleared, and often, like doctors, we get pushed back in the schedule because of one person who pushed us back earlier. I'd love if you could find it in your heart to be happy that she's healthy and going to the doctor and that's her hold-up. It's not an easy gig and these things do happen. I'm sure, if she's anything like the SPs I know, she was mortified by being held up and only asked you to delay as a last option.

I've had it before where I've been pushed back because of such human things as traffic and ferry delays and exploding dishwashers and my asshole jumped up to touch my stomach when that happened. No one who takes this job seriously is happy about these kinds of impositions, but she has to deal with it herself and can't sub anyone else in or make someone else fix it for her. She's running her whole world.

Also, I love you, and I hope you're doing well. Sorry that you had a sad.

xoxo Elsi

Could be worse. At least she’s not your wife. You can always take your business elsewhere.

I understand shit happens but it sucks that she tried to make you feel like a schmuck. For whatever reason delays can happen. It's always about how it's handled. 2 instances where I had to deal with delays since the new year.

#1 There was a minor building issue that delayed my appointment. However, the SP I had booked was great at handling it and a constant pro. We stayed in constant communication and she even offered another options. I was able to push some stuff back because I really wanted to see her and she also was great a communicating. I like dealing with professionals because there are certain standards and decency that generally (not always) make dealing with them so much better.

#2 Booked a week out to see an SP at 12pm, only 2nd time seeing her. Had a business meeting at 10am which wasn't long but important. My 10am (freaking a--holes:mad:) was really late. Tried to push SP back but couldn't. I did not cancel, just rolled with it. Wasn't super late. She handled it as a professional. Longer then typical appointment and even though I didn't get the full time, that was at no fault to her. I paid her for the whole time because it was my issue. She blocked off time in her schedule for me. Get this she didn't ask me to pay for the whole time but I did anyway because my delay shouldn't be held against her. Respect goes both ways. Professional dealing with professional, no issues.

I expect when doing "business" to be dealing with professionals. If I hire a professional piano teacher I expect them to be professional. And yeah it's hard to expect that with some AMPs and not all Independent SP's are professional. For the ones that are I appreciate them.

She may have been on a cancellation list with her Doc and she was called up. Doctors are booking months in advance. Often people will ask to go on a cancellation list in hopes of seeing their Doc sooner.

I've been told 95% of clients are involved in a traffic accident on their way to see a SP.

I am assuming this was to be your first visit with this provider. Does she have a history of doing this based on reviews? If it's a new lady I will give her 15 minutes then I leave. I'm on time 99.9%.

I see a couple of regulars that are notoriously never ready on time. One of said regulars had me wait because she had friends waiting for a cab. I texted every 15 minutes and they were still waiting even though I saw 4 empty cabs drive by her place while I was waiting. I waited for over an hour before I left. I haven't seen her since. She's just bad with time management and I'm sure her business suffers from it. Like I said, I saw her regularly, at least once a month, now I'm not sure if I want to waste my time on her again. It's to bad, she's a great lady otherwise.

I love you too, Elsi. I am doing well, thanks! Knowing you care about my sad made it go away. Sort of like how you've quickly relieved me in other, far more delish ways ;)

Understandable, from experience. Once I was so excited driving to an appointment that it resulted in a premature rear-ending.

I made it to the appointment within 15 minutes to set it right.

I was so worried about being late I got a speeding ticket en route. It would have paid for another hour.

Another reason why I use transit in Vancouver.

I was in a bad accident due to rushing to an appointment with an SP. I rear ended one of those very small (low mass) car to go, or something similar. My car was barely drivable. Her's I think was still drivable and she exchanged info no problem. But she must have suffered major whiplash because 2 years later the accident is still not showing up on my record when I buy insurance, which means she has still not settled with ICBC.

I learned my lesson to not rush. If I'm late, I'm late, I will have to deal with it when I arrive.

This reminds me of an incident that happened to a friend of mine a long time ago. He was driving to a date he knew would be very hot and he crashed into a stationary milk float!

I was told this by a lady, as the excuse she hears for cancellations. She meant it as a joke and that's how I took it.

Maybe it is more fact than fiction?

I wonder what the ratio would be ,when comparing driving too the young ladies incall....and actually having her in your vehicle?
...and that vehicle not having bench seats, and the annoying road head obstacle called a centre console.

I don't know about any ratio's either way, I do know it falls into distracted driving.

Ummmmm...I think my post has been hijacked. But that's okay, I guess.
This is an important topic, let's focus.

ICBC referenced Punters as a reason for their rate hikes. I think that clients should take a minute and stop driving with boners. I mean, what if we hit a kid? Or something with real value like a dog?
