Most interesting movie I've seen in a while. Had the greatest conversation with my GF after the movie.

Most movies are just escapist entertainment—this one confronts reality. It's not a heavy-handed, moralizing portrayal of men's porn addiction, but a well-paced comedy that seems frivolous on the surface, but is actually very perceptive in its social commentary.

It's so explicit that, in most societies around the world, it probably wouldn't make it into mainstream theatres.

Watching porn certainly gives us guys endless hours of pleasure—but it can also sap some of our motivation and ability to connect intimately with women.

And what happens if a woman forbids her man to watch porn? Might as well forbid a woman to stop meeting her girlfriends for gossip sessions.

The movie's melodramatic plot twist at the end may be a little...well, atypical and wishful. Few porn-loving young men find an older women to change their habits for the better.

Definitely recommend that you see this movie with an SO—but probably not at an early stage of dating.

"The film isn't a condemnation of a lifestyle. It never throws Jon under the bus for behaving the way he does. Gordon-Levitt actually defends his character's addiction, instead choosing to condemn a society that pushes impractical ideals onto Jon. He shouldn't be embarrassed by what makes him happy (though he may want to ask why it's what makes him the happiest). Gordon-Levitt takes an aspect of life many people deem their most intimate and exposes the lies within the entertainment industry's depiction of it. By putting these issues front and center, he stands by Jon's right to be himself and not be judged for it."
