Just wondering if anyone on this board is heading down there this winter. I will be down for 10 weeks starting next month, escaping the Alberta winter again.

Any suggestions for hot mongering spots in the Puerto plata, Sosua area would be appreciated.

Read the travel advisories before you leave, dude. I heard that they've just had a serious malaria outbreak.

The malaria outbreak is over and it was localized in the Bavaro Beach area.... I used to go down for 6-7 weeks each winter and stayed in Cabarete... (near Sosua).... lots of opportunities back then....

I travel a shit load and I find the most useful resource to be Clubhombre.com . I think membership costs about $6/month and its gets waived if you post good pics from your offshore adventures

In order to be a "VIP member" & be allowed to read the full explicit review, you must either pay $20/month or submit two reviews/month. As a result, guys have a handy incentive to post phony reviews. So most of them are fake. It's obvious from the replicated language taken from previous reviews or the SP's website.
Still, it has some nominal value. If an SP gets nothing but raves or pans, you can get some idea.
