the undergravel are fine but they do not mechanically filter the crap inaznboi9 said:I used to have a 33 gallon, still do actually, but I used an under gravel filter and it seemed ok. I liked it because I didn't have to keep on replacing the cotton in those regular ones. Does anybody know if those are good or bad at all?
the water (it all ends up on the bottom of the tank under the 'filter' and the gravel)
... some do have little filters, but much emphasis on 'little'.
i like them for the bubbles and they allow you to clean the tank easier ...
you hook a suction to the undergravel filter and up it comes ... doesn't
disturb the gravel as much ...
but i would still use an out of tank filter like a fluval ... i typically used one
that was rated for a tank twice the size and cleaned it half as often to
save a little work ...
its way more important to do regular water changes than anything else ...
