Too bad this Administration has lost so much respect in the world due to years of its unilateralism - otherwise there would be far less outrage regarding their disregarding of 4% of NAFTA trade (while the other 96% is without problem) - from which incidentally any rulings are non-binding!

There is no recourse for Canadians through NAFTA as a result. Only way out is to widen the trade war, as you expounded. Canadians better be prepared for a few years of hardship, and realise that the United States does not have friends - it has interests.

My only disagreement is you are inferring this started with the Bush administration....You can go back a long way and see a building trend...

The people get the gov't they deserve.....We Americans have taken our eye off the ball and allowed the control of our gov't to pass to lobbyists and others with great power behind the scenes.

If your inference is right and it is all GWB, then all we need to do is wait until 08 and the problems will be over.

In my opinion W is actually better than what we would have had with Gore or Kerry. We do not get to pick the best person for the job; we get to pick the least worst.
