I won 45 dollars for a couple of visits, and then today all of a sudden I lost $190. I only bet on red, black, odd and even on a roulette table. But miracle happened today, about 12-13 rolls without a black, and 8-9 without a small number. After that many reds, of course i tried my luck on black after 8 reds+ and I just kept losing. So weird, I am still winning money overall but i will never go and play in a casino again as I think the outcomes are controlled by some people.

Do you really think that Vegas would be what it is today, if casino gambling favored the player? Nice fantasy! It's designed so we win just enough, and just often enough, to keep us coming back for more! A fun ride, but it's no retirement plan, that's for sure (unless your name's Hatrick, who's luck seems to keep his pooning budget alive and well)!

If you're doing it for a fun night out, that's one thing, but if you're really going with the intent of winning, it's probably best to just send them a cheque. Look around you when you're there - who do you think
has paid for the lavish digs? Like every game of chance, eg. the lottery, someone will win occasionally, but the odds are hugely stacked against you.
P.S. If you want to throw your money away but have given up on the casino, PM me and we can get together and lighten your wallet - cash only please.

If you go every day for one year at play 100 bucks per day the best you can do is 50/50 but you only have a 5% chance of that.

Just go there to get out of the house and for the cheap food and drinks. Otherwise its a hugh waste of breath.

I enjoy poker in Vegas. I love it, and I think its profitable if you play tag or lag. Most players in Vegas are very loose.
But the casinos here suck. All games you lose in the end. Poker is different, but you really have to be good.

Don't say that to LAG...he is a winning player big time at the casino.

I nominate this thread as the most retarded of 2012! (No offense Bombaman, but did you notice how many numbers are on the board and what they payout?)

I know it's not even 50/50 but i only play when the chance of occurance of black or red is large. But i think they can really control the outcome.

They dont need to control the outcome, the odds are enough to ensure they win.

It's quite easy to win a few hundred or thousand in a night or lose the same.

If i go in with a few thousand on 5k limit european roulette, with the goal of winning 100,
i'll leave the place a winner well over 90% of the time.

Sorry Guys I lost a shit load of cash at the casinos in Vegas. We use to go every second weekend when I was younger. I ended up with a bit of a problem but the casino's loved me. I use to get free rooms, limos for the time I am there, free food, free shows and events, free merchandise in some of the shops, and even women. It has been awhile since I gambled. Ok last year while I was in town for meetings with a Japanese customer they got me to put some money down. Won like $80,000 but in the end lost close to $100,000. Even when you win you lose.

My problem is when I go to that town and the casinos find out I am in town they are all over me. Man I love that town. Man I hate that town. My advice stay away.

I used to play a lot as well, and like said above its hit and run. the longer you stay at a table the better the odds for the house. the odds are already stacked against you but you can reduce your risk by knowing your limits and playing within it. at my best / worst (depends how you look at it) I was playing approximately $150,000 year at the casinos. do yourself a favor and invest your money elsewhere. very few people can actually make a living out of gambling, but if your playing for fun and know that you stand to lose that money, casinos are a good time.

Blackjack question- do you guys buy insurance when dealer has an ace and you have a 20 count? I do everytime because you are way more than likely to break even or win. Now if my count is 15 I would skip the insurance.

by the rules of game you should not, but quite often I find the dealer hitting 21 in that situation. all depends sometimes on the amount you have betted. if your playing low value bets, i usually opt out of insurance, because if the dealer doesnt hit 21 you lose half your bet anyways, so you dont gain much at all, so you may as well take the chance (which by the rules the dealer shouldnt score that often) but if you playing high value bets sometimes its worth the risk. even after insurance deduction walking away with $500+ is better than nothing. normally I skip out on the insurance, even at 20.

The longer you are at the table, the better odds the house has. Hit and run, hit and run.......

** stagger your bets when your on a run and pull back when the dealer is on theirs. Seems simple but you'd be surprised how many people bet the same amount all the time and don't take advantage of runs.
Can you elaborate on this? How do house odds change over time. Please define a run from a statistical perspective as a function of house odds on the very next hand played? Also, when does one know they are on a run? If I have two coins and toss them simultaneously, what are the odds they both come up heads, heads and tails and tails? How does the previous occurrence of an event influence the statistical probability of the next event, all things being equal over time?
