Do you get to know your SP?

So I've been really enjoying the time spent with the ladies I've had appointments with. I'm wondering; for return visits, is it okay and normal to get to know the ladies a bit during the massage/downtime? Like their interests, music, how was their weekend, do they have pets, etc? There's usually small talk regardless to help make everyone comfortable, but I don't know if asking them about themselves through return visits crosses boundaries or if it's normal.

I understand they're providing a service, and we're having a transaction of sorts, but I'm in a customer service industry and I like to know more about my customers to create that more personal level of service. I'm just not sure if it's the same in this industry, or if it's a little taboo to ask about their personal lives. Thanks in advance for the feedback!

I get to know most of the providers I see repeatedly.

Once I get chatting and sharing more about myself they generally share more about themselves. It's best for both parties to respect each other's privacy. You likely won't tell her everything about yourself, so don't expect her to share too much personal info with you. Definitely don't pry if it looks like she is holding back, or not comfortable sharing.

There is definitely a delicate balance between getting to know your companion, and infringing upon their personal privacy. Some of us (well, me for sure) are not very attractive, and equally poor when it is time to "perform", so conversation time is often a majority of the experience. I have learned the hard way that some companions take (deservedly so) great exception when one crosses the line. Now I live in the world of highly-superficial when it comes to conversations.
