Do women still appreciate compliments?

I always thought most women appreciated being told they look good.
Not, "You're hot" but " That's a great outfit, or You have a beautiful smile or I like your boots.

But as I get older I wonder if it's appreciated or does it seem creepy to younger women?

I think if the comment is genuine, most women know it and can appreciate it. As long as the comment isnt made all creepy and weird, I think they dig it.

I meant random strangers you might meet or pass in the street as well as .

I have always done it and always receive a thank you and smile.

I hope I don't come off as pervy.

Personally, I enjoy complimenting people, regardless of age/gender, though they would obviously be different in content & delivery. I used to be far more 'negative' looking to tear folks down, but I largely got over that.

I do take a special pleasure in complimenting women, especially attractive ones. It's a weakness of mine. If the delivery is good, and the content is good, it usually goes over well.

I find it's good to compliment women on something outside of the obvious "you're hot" type (no duh). good ones are to compliment them on their hair ("you have beautiful hair", or "I love your hair"), or their style ("that outfit looks great on you", or "you have an amazing sense of style")...best of all, if you run into one of those ladies who just radiates good positive energy and has a great smile, tell them. "You light up the whole room with your smile", or "You just radiate positive energy". I've done all of those, and it's always gone over well, especially as I'm not using it as an excuse to get their phone number.

I'm not sure how I clicked on this thread, but here I am. Anna, that's what I have always thought. And I do give compliments out of the blue, in different circumstances, if it hits me at the moment, and seems appropriate.

I never once thought of it as creepy, sometimes the lady is as mature as me, or younger than my adult daughter. I echo 100% the sentiments of Mr. memyselfandI. I would never say 'you're hot', that is not appropriate. Simple stuff, like, 'That looks nice', the smile and thank you I get back 99 times out of 100 tells me I'm not being creepy. And I'm not, just real.

As an aside, Anna, Dr V says I must see you when you come to Saskatoon.

I think the answer to the question would change depending on if the woman you give the compliment to thinks you're attractive/desirable or not.

....
Well said..so true..and this video proves it! ..... How to compliment a woman.....

Lady Via;

I always make sure I have wiped my chin before making a compliment to a cute sexy young lady.

Of course I am just kidding, a compliment goes a long way. Body language, the eyes, all combined, can result in a less favorable result.

Sincerity should always be recognizable.

I used to live in an apartment building a couple floors above an older man who really didn't have this figured out. One day while I was walking through the lobby he said to me "You look so good I would like to throw you over my shoulder and carry you back to my cave."

:fear:

Okay, I'm sure he meant it as a compliment. A very creepy, inappropriate compliment. But I love a sincere and non- rapey compliment from a man of any age!

XO Mona.

I think all women appreciate compliments...and it's only creepy when it's delivered in a creepy way, the 'hey baby' kind of approach!

Not being a 'younger woman' anymore, I can't say for sure. But I can say that I get compliments from younger men all the time, as well as older. While I'm putting money in the parking meter, or walking down the street, or otherwise minding my own business. These compliments don't come across as pick-up lines, just as genuine expressions of appreciation. And yes, I appreciate them back...

Female hormones increase when women (and men) get compliments from men (or women if she is a gay).
And female hormones makes women beautiful, I believe.
Since, I started this job, my breast has gotten a bit bigger and rounder, got more curves on right places on bodies...
I believe I owe gratuities to every single gentlemen who gave me compliments on me.

Compliments on my body, choice of lingerie, smile, attire, attitude, English, skills, everything!
But one compliment I sometime get and gets me flattered the most is
"wow Yoko, you listen to great tunes!"

Is that the girl from TMZ? The one that they always refer to as the 'Spinster' or 'Catlady?' Kind of looks like her.
No, picture is from a European site, I think it was Hungary, can't remember. Another couple of years and that could be me in the picture.
