Do we really want brothels?

I was just reading a bit of the thread on drive in brothels
Honestly ..I think the whole idea is degrading .. I have never looked at women that are in the sex trade as whores and hookers ..even though many women that work the street seem to promote this seriously type. And in return the clientel treat them in a like manner.

There is no need to have this attitude and atmosphere in the sex trade business any more.
People need to be respected .and want respect.. and as many of us are more educated on the reasons that individuals are invalved in prostitution .then we should know it not that simple as being what people have assumed and perpetuated about those involved in the street work or in agencies.

And from my experience and interaction with many of the girls through the years.. none should call them selves whores ...but some do..

The clintel has changed alot through the decades.. and there many just average people invalved in the business on both sides.. The girls have other job.. go to school.. or are just trying to provide for their children. . Yes others have drug habit.. and lice to party.. so do none escorts.. it not exclusive to the sex trade.. I think every one needs to be reminded of that.. even those that advocate against prostitution . If they claim those are the reason for them being in the business.. and want to help ..What about the rest of society that allso is troubled by the same addiction and life style. .that bring their live down too.

Not a reason to call them whores.. or to set up brothels or designate areas that promote that seriotype. . .
I think a well run agency that promotes the independent worker...respects their rights and choices.
And allso asked that the clients abid by some reasonable ethics and hygiene. .would do more for communities then setting up drive through brothels.. or even brothels . In certain areas of town .

How does working in a brothel make a woman a whore as opposed to working out of her house. The issue seems to be your own hangups. Its essentially just a massage parlor without all the hypocrisy.

Brothels need not be degrading. Heck, Miss Kitty on the TV series Gunsmoke ran a brothel & everyone treated her with respect.

With pretty much every profession, be it doctor, lawyer, whatever... Some pro's decide to hang out their own shingles and be independent providers, and some decide to work in a brothel where they give up a percentage of their earnings (or sometimes just earn a wage), and in return they don't have to administer the business.

As long as it is a free choice, everyone benefits.

As a customer, there are advantages to brothels much like there are advantages to CarePoint clinics - which are essentially brothels for MD's.

One thing about a brothel is that you can look over the selection, get the body language , and leave if you aren't happy. It beats driving around dark streets where u can't really see much and are likely for attack. Private is definitely best if you know the sp first. It is much harder to jump around singular girls working alone and just leave if you don't like what opens the door. Brothels have some distinct advantages for both sides. But there are internal politics within brothels. Some insist the girls get turns and if you arrive when u don't like the gal whose turn it is you may not see the others until she is accepted. I would insist on seeing all those working and make a choice. Consequently I would just leave if not satisfied.
But this is a market for everyone and it's done differently depending upon the situation

One thing I don't want, for sure, is how the RLD is set up in Amsterdam. I also don't want pimps in control of anyone, their money, or their ability to freely travel. Finally, I don't want workers to be forced into any kind of a situation that has a high risk of danger.

I don't know the solution...I don't have enough facts, data or experience with the issues at hand. I'd be *very* careful about advocating brothels, or anything really...

I know I sang the praises of the fkk clubs elsewhere.
I would not want one in my neighbourhood though and nobody else would either. They were a great thing when they started up but now they are way too big and nothing but an eyesore.
Their success is going to be their downfall. Small ones might be allowed to continue but those giant supermarket-size ones attract too much bad publicity. Once people get on their politician's ass to do something they will be banned.
I still think they are a good idea and would work here. They provide a safe place for the ladies to work. They need to be way more discreet than the German ones though. Just keep them small and with minimal signage like the old Swedish Touch or Club Paris.

You got that right, after being in the best brothel in North America last week its just sucks to go to a Vancouver AMP and see the selection and its costs so MUCH!
