Do reviews make a difference?

I just started out as an SP posting on CL. I have only seen a few select people and haven't had any reviews posted of me.

Just wondering....

Do reviews really make a difference? How many gentlemen do reivews and check out this site.

Just wondering - I don't want to ask for someone to write a review but I'd love to know where I am good and where I could improve.

actually quite a lot of people check this site first. it's pretty much just a clients first line of defense from wot's and bait & switches etc.

i tend to see what some of the more experienced people on the board have to say. b/c they tend to keep it pretty impartial and just call it as it is when it comes to the sp.

maybe about 10% of the people that roam this site actually post a review. most use it, like a said up top, as a reference too.

but there are rare birds that come on this site that are just vindictive and want to mess with an sp's career. those people usually aren't taken very seriously.

I would love to offer my personal service. My rates are $$ for the hour. I'm sure that during that hour I will be able to judge your skills and tell you in person where you are good, and give you verbal and physical instructions where you could improve. After that hour I would be willing to donate all the time in the world you need for practicing untill you get it perfect. (I hope you are still smiling)

On a serious not. Yes I think this board helps the SP's that offer excellent service, and hurts the ones that give lousy service. I think a lot of guys try and get info on this site about an SP they haven't seen, but are thinking about setting up a rendezvous.

P.S. After my "lessons" sweetie, you wont have to worry about bad reviews, they'll all be "10".

When it comes to reviews, I try to stick to the ones from the long-time lurkers. Some of the reviews from newbies can potentially be shills (i.e. people pretending to be perbs who are actually SPs or friends of SPs trying to make themselves sound fantastic, to get more business) OR competitors trying to make their competition look bad). With reviews from long-time lurkers, who have given honest reviews in the past, you can feel pretty confident that they are accurate.

Big difference

I only see SP's by the research here, esp by the veterans...prob the reason why I dont post as much as I should is that for that same reason, they may seem redundant as the sp's are as good as what other pooers have written reviews on them, thus i dont want to sound repetitive...

sorry guys, but if there was anythign to add, i do try to...

but for sure, a bad review sticks out..and the great ones for sure it's all good!
