attraction may be cultural for some and ignorant for others but there's a point left unaddressed - attraction isn't always a logical choice. when speaking of attraction i'm talking about total attraction not just physical. no woman wakes up saying she wants a midget but you see alot of short guys with hot taller women. now in asian terms it means that even though many women have stereotypes of your race it doesn't mean you can't win many of them over to you. i've had alot of asian women say they never considered being with an east indian but they did. i'm sure many white women may think they'd never date an asian guy but like i said before "attraction isn't always a logical choice".

i've not only read it, but worked it to perfection instead of asking questions on perb that you already know the answer to.

But from my understanding of the Quebecois, they are more like the old French and have about as much exposure to Asian males as the women from Eastern Europe. I illustrate this to show that just because they speak the same language and share much of the same culture, the dynamics that lead to attraction are so different that there can be no attraction at all.
sorry gbm, it shows that your understanding of the Quebecois is not necessarily an accurate representation of their culture if you really think that the Quebecois share "much of the same culture" with the French.

Ask any self respecting Frenchman if he/she thinks that a Quebecois shares much of the same culture as him/her and the reply will probably be that Quebecois are first and foremost North American, but with a french twist.

just my opinion though

I don't know much about the Quebecois. Yet of course a Frenchman will say a Quebecois is nothing like him, that's pretty typical. But the Quebecois come from French culture, there is absolutely no denying that. They speak a variation of the French language too, and there is no denying that. Who do the Quebecois share most of their culture with? It's the French of course, they are a people derived from France and French culture. Even their family names trace back to France. They can deny it all they wish, but they do it principally for the purpose of distinguishing themselves from each other - thus for the purpose of my discussion it is basically irrelevant.

GBM. Let me explain to you why what you say may be confusing. talking to french friends there are broken down as frenchcanadians, paris french and in Canada a Quebecois is hardcore to separate. I know FC who consider it a insult to be called a '' Quebecois ''

Thank you for the explanation. I realize that people of a particular common ethnicity often try to distinguish themselves from each other, even to the point of even very minute distinctions are fought for zealously (ie: one says patat, the other says pomme de terre, and they use this to insult the other as though it was a factor of purity, class and distinction). But my point is that these distinctions are relative and only meaningful in a particular context. I would illustrate my point further by saying that the Quebecois are basically French, and they certainly are not American, Japanese, British, Iroqouis, Hispanics, Africans, Watusi, Arabic, etc.
