Does anyone know why why there is a box at the bottom of the search page that says "also search child forums"? This is freaky and weird. Not sure why it would be anywhere near this site and it defaults with the box checked. Never noticed it before, but has it always been there? Seems like something that should be eliminated - and soon.

That is disturbing CT:eek: , I never noticed it all this time since the new softwear upgrade as I never scroll or look at the very bottom of the page when doing a search.

If I remember correctly the words "child forums" do not have anything to do with children but rather to do with the way the data is stored on the forum. They would be called a child forum as they are branches off the main forums.
Rather like files in the root of C: on your computer and the branches off of the root.

That is a programmer's way of designating dependacies.

Main = IP server
Daughter = Allotted space for PERB
Child = Subdirectory in PERB's allotted space

I suggest renaming it something more boring like "Subdirectory".

And let's not forget processes! We have parents, children, the forked child, an orphan, a zombie, and finally terminating a zombie by killing the zombie's parent! And who said that unix was just for geeks? We now have a whole new audience with pooners! :D
It's the fathers who create the orphans. That is why programmers use the mother, daughter, child rather than father, attributed child, non attibuted byblow, attributed wrongly because father was cuckolded, orphan by conquest directory structures.

Since its part of the vBulletin software perhaps you need to send a petition to the programmers. Fred and the moderators wouldn't have the option of changing the name for you. I'm sure most users of this program don't associate the term with pedophilia.
