I'm up and running with DTV legit package with no ppv or porn
cost is 85 a month with sports packages, 65 without.
You gotta buy the new p5 card $ and initial hook up charge, gotta pay for 4 months in advance. Only downside = seahawk games don't show up on sunday ticket, gotta do regular cable.

I've been up since early sept. Anyone want the guys name that hooked me up - pm me.

I'm also running the upgraded BB FTA

85 a month is worth having non canadian content programming anyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With FTA you would get dishnet...no canadian programing there...all the nfl porn ppv's etc and no subscription costs dont hold your breath for directv free to air is the way to go if you want tv:)
P.S @ 85.00 a month this unit would pay for itself in just over 3 months

Can anyone suggest any sites a satelitte newbie could visit to learn about all this "pulling-down-the-signals" business? Hopefully there's a site that lists all the different options for Canadians and compares them.

I wanted Direct awhile back, but didn't have the SW exposure. Now I've got the exposure and would like to know what options I have, what I need to setup, etc.

I'm getting pms asking me about free to air...which I am involved in... if interested in this hobby go to...http://forums.al7bar.tk/ everything you could possibly want to know is there.
The server is very busy right now due to a key change by dishnet, second one in three days...keep trying you will get in eventually. :)

The reason I say bell and dishnet are going down is because they are changing cards like direct did last april...they are changing the steam from nagra 1 to nagra 2...apparantly there is no hack as yet for the new nagra 2 stream...or at least no body can prove it.
There will be no fix before it is needed if ever.My money is still on free to air which may be as simple as a software upgrade to defeat nagra 2...but as I said there will be no fix if ever till the change is complete...hope this makes sense to you and helps with your decision...right now fta is the way to go ;)

Isn't FTA just the blackbird and similar models which are dishnetwork hacks?
Blackbird is a brand name I use fortec (my preference) they are cardless...they receive dishnet, bell and countless other satellites...up to 3000 channels

FTA is the only way to go right now but don't expect it to last much longer either since DTV went down its become much more popular and dishnetwork knows how much they are losing to FTA so I'm sure they're working on closing that soon. As far as hacking cards forget about it it'll never be the way it was.

I've been in this since the old F card days and believe me, save your money and get legit cable. There is NO p4/D1 hack, nor will there be one. Anybody getting their p4 'programmed' is getting scammed. It's just somebody south of the border getting add-on subscriptions and charging you. A few of them were busted last week.

Bell and Dish will move to Nagra2 soon, which will bring down all hacks INCLUDING FTA. If you think your $150 FTA reciever has enough CPU power to handle the increased bitrate of the Nagra 2 stream, you are either delusional, or a dealer desparately trying to dump his soon-to-be useless stock.

Don't even consider taking my word on this. Check out http://www.hashhu.com for up to date info.

I agree...but wouldnt give up all hope...this is a very large market and the manufacturers of fta will try to keep up with the changes...like coolsat which has doubled the cpu power....time will tell...till then i'm watching tv :)
