Hey all... Anyone know anything about Digital Cameras?

I have had one for about 2-1/2 years or so.. It took amazing pictures and worked great.. the best investment I ever made,

However the last few months the quality of the pictures has been steadly declining, most are slightly fuzzy or not very clear. The camera has to be held perfectly still for the picture to turn out even half decent (this didn't used to be the case) Sometimes the picture, when previewed on my camera look great but when I go to print them they aren't clear..

Any Ideas if this can be fixed or am i better off to go get a new one??

check if you can set the shutter speed... all these issues would appear if you accidently changed the shutter speed to something lower than... bout 1/60 sec...

Most aren't worth fixing. The technology is evolving so fast that the servicing costs outweigh the usefulness of the camera. Unless it is a very high end camera I think you'd be better off buying a new one. The problem most likely is in the receptor chip - these can sometimes be replaced, but as said - new technology probably means it's f***ed.

I also forgot that I keep getting Card errors as well.. is my card screwed or is this all part of the same problem?

Blurry pictures can be caused by slow shutter speed, or simply off-focus. Sometimes with a amature digital camera (non SLR) it is hard to tell if you're in focus.

BR when you say you have bad quality pictures is the entire area of the particular picture turn out to be blurry or only part of the picture to be blurry? or do you see pixels blocks in your pictures?

Since you're also get card errors I would suggest the problem you have is an eletronic one. see if you can borrow a card from a friend to test it out.

you could always have a dirty lense!!! :)

But like CT said, it's just not worth it unless you have a really nice digital camera, I've gone thru about 3 different digital cameras in the last 4 years, one just died, one had a slight 'accident' in a Costa Rican jungle river (while *I* only managed to almost drown miles from another human being while being completely blind due to lost glasses), and my newest one kicks ass, it's only a 3.2 meg but it's really compact, I'm probably gonna get a nice high end one... *sigh* $2000 up in smoke? :p

brocket, if you're on a budget I picked up a Cannon A60 a month or so ago. It's only a 2 MP but it takes very sharp images and was only like $179.99.

Also check to see if you're in Manual or Automatic mode. What kind of camera is it?
