... As I heard on the radio they auctioned off tickets to the game totalling 3500. That's a pretty penny for a game.

In your opinion was it worth the price ??

I gave my tickets

away to my neice who is a huge fan of the Messier era, and who spent a ton of time with my dad before he passed away just after the new year. I told her that she was the one call I was going to make before I put them on e-bay. Sorry I missed the Messier ceremony, but glad I missed the game. With the fans reaction to Smyth being traded I may be able to improve my seating next year.:)

I was at the Gretzky jersey retirement.

It was sweet.

As a Calgary Flames fan not much chance of me going. I did have the chance to meet and talk with Mark years ago. He's a real down to earth person.
On a side note...... bye bye Ryan.

I went it was a great time- the kicker was we knew that Smyth was traded and most people were / still are asking why? We have season tickets a lot of folks were asking for them -

So much for the playoffs this year - Go Red WINGS :D

After the bum coasted through three years with the Canucks, essentially stealing his salary from them, there wouldn't be a chance in hell of attending that ceremony.

He was great, but only when he wanted to be. The truly great athletes are the ones who give it their all, all the time.

It's a shame that there were not more empty seats.

...

Oh yes. For some reason I though he was referring to Ryan Smyth. My Bad.

It's hard to believe that Mess was a canuck at one point in time.

That would be the Canucks who are how far ahead of the Oilers this year? Hope the Olers can find an open golf course during April in Edmonton (Hey, as a Canuck fan since sometime in the last century, I gotta get my shots in when I can.......!).

As for Messier and his tenure in Vancouver, Brian Burke had to give him more than a few rolls of quarters to phone in his performances.

You might want to check the second sentence of my previous comment.

By the way, have the Oilers won one since the turn of the century?

I saw it on TV and I don't think it worth the money some people were playing at ebay. It was short and they should have each of the old Oilers say a few words instead of just standing there.

I went to the Messier event at Winspear and I think that was way better, only cost little more than three hundred dollars with part of it tax deductable.
